7 in 21 matches is quite good. It's also a lot to pay for a young player who has missed a bunch of matches due to muscle injuries in the last couple of years.

When I first looked at those stats I was impressed. I thought MP meant minutes played. It’s actually Matches Played so not very impressive.

Yeah, quite possibly. Also bearing in mind we are probably willing to overpay slightly to pay in instalments. In which case selling Gray for say 15m would probably be more than enough to get him in the door.

Thats £34mil. I would guess it would be £20-25mil and the balance in clauses.

We must have hundreds of millions to spend if we're happy to splash 30m on a complete unknown quantity striker with a very modest goals return in his career.

Seeing as we need a good backup goalkeeper, a new left back, a centre half, a winger and one further striker to be brought in... can't wait to see if ya spend the 150/200m that would require.

Having two high-value strikers who are injury-prone is a big risk. It's not the way I would solve the problem. It's also the sort of profile we agree we should be looking for, this summer, so there's that.

I can see both sides, on this one.
