So youve only been an Evertonian since after he was linked last summer....

Hes only 21 and looks high potential to me...you not sold?
Oh he looks decent alright, I think the big concern is just finding players who will play in a Dyche setup. If he is prepared to do that then yeah go for it. I honestly don't see players lining up to play for SD, think it's going to be an issue unless we start chucking massive wages at people.

I was referring to this part of your post..."in recent years the best managers throughout the league have generally come into the league with no PL experience"
So my question was, which of these managers took on skint teams in the relegation zone with a totally unbalanced squad?
And @Simon Buttle

Guys, you’re veering off topic here… this is the summer transfer thread not a Which manager should we have gone for thread

We must have hundreds of millions to spend if we're happy to splash 30m on a complete unknown quantity striker with a very modest goals return in his career.

Seeing as we need a good backup goalkeeper, a new left back, a centre half, a winger and one further striker to be brought in... can't wait to see if ya spend the 150/200m that would require.

Excellent!
Well no clearly we are going to put the bulk of the budget we can scrape together at the top priority, which is a striker. Then try to flesh out the squad fairly frugally.

That was pretty much what we did last summer, one big signing then relatively bargain basement free / loan / sub 15m signings for the rest. Be no surprise if we do the same again.

It will be difficult to assess what puts players off coming here: our status, boardroom chaos or manager's approach to the job and style of play. But even Dyche admirers must admit that he is not the best man to sell a prospective player a vision of where we are going as a club

Is why you have the dof aswell to sell the club will be more than just dyche that sells the club. Also players at the club help other new players join same agents ect is more than just the manager even tho dyche would play a key role

Fingers crossed that players coming in see more than we see

How much say will he actually get though? Id be very surprised if players/agents still fall for Kenwrights 'boys pen' routine anymore.

I wont lie out of the strikers on @Zatara ‘s list Toure is the one i want least but ofc ill still take him.
My order is:
Balogun
Wahi
Toure

If we really have 40 million to spend then i dont know why we havent gone for the other 2 who have scored more and lack the injury issues and are generally seen as bigger prospects

Wonder what players coming in, or at least linked with us anyway, would think our expectations will be next season? Do you reckon players coming in would be confident we'll stay up next season?

To be honest, if he puts off players who don't want to put a shift in, then we may well be better off.
