That's 24 players, 25 if you include Young.

However, that includes Lonergan, who has played zero games since 2019, Virginia who is clearly not rated by the club, Gbamin, Gomes and Alli, who clearly have no future at the club, leaving us with an effective squad of 19. That 19 includes Keane and Maupay who are mince and Onana and Gray who have been heavily linked with moves away.

Yeah, I said it earlier but if it is Young it's the sort of signing where if we've brought in 2 or 3 decent forwards already you shrug your shoulders and see it as a free squad player and a reasonable shout for a year. It's just that if it's your first signing it's a bit scary for what the rest will be. Heads will fall off.

Yep. But I dont think anyone believes we wont be bringng firepower in up front.

Young will add vast experience at FB and can deputise for Coleman and even start over Mykolenko...so he has competition at last.

For 12 months or so that'll fill a void.

The position we're in, I don't think we can baulk at that... as long as it isn't anything over a year deal and we can address LB again next summer.
