Summer transfer window 2023

The fact is that this club is hemorrhaging money on a monthly basis. It looks as though Moshiri isn't prepared to stump up to cover those losses any more, so the Richie money, the Gordon money, and the positive balance of this transfer window, is simply keeping our head above water. Come January there won't be a war chest, the money will be gone in covering the monthly losses of running this club. The future looks very bleak.
January will be a big tell! If we spend this money or not
Will wait and see

Feel we’ve been left with a stronger starting 11, certainly attacking wise, than we had for most of last season. We’re really vulnerable defensively to any injuries and full backs are a concern. Mcneil’s absence is massive both in what he offers offensively and the defensive work he does.

We have 2 players for every position in the back 4. We also have Holgate out on loan.

Next summer Coleman + Young are out of contract.

2025 Keane, Godfrey, Holgate are out of contract.

Numbers wise were fine. Next summer we need to let the two contracts expire + sell the 3 whose expire in 2025. Their book values will be low and so we wont take FFP losses .

Next summer we would then have: Coleman, Holgate, Young, Keane, Godfrey out.

Mykolenko, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Patterson remaining. 4 new defenders required next summer.

Its just a numbers game.

As posted in Iwobi + Onana threads. He created 4 "big chances" last season.

This season Onana is on 4 and Garner is on 2.

Hes not missed.

So other clubs dont know how much weve sold for OR so they dont claim to have sold (like the RS do) for huge fees when alot is made up of clauses/add ons.

Need him and Gray sold.

Nonsense.
2 players for every position.....hmmm well if the CB replacements are Godfrey and Keane forgive me if I lose all hope.

It’s a seriously daunting prospect after back to back relegation battles and and 3 straight league losses in a row. But you’re right, get through the next 2 seasons intact and the stadium will be finished, the club sold, and we should move on to great things. Moshiri is seriously gambling here.

Its why i think we need to sell Gomes + Gray. Their wages must be around/over £150k weekly.

If my numbers are correct (calculations in an earlier post and the Gnonto bid £500k apart) then weve had a net of +£25.7mil.

Move Gomes and Gray out to Saudi and call it £45mil.

Next summer i think we need 8 additions. We could buy e.g Gnonto +Wharton from Leeds/Blackburn in Jan for the money.

We'd then need 6 players.

Some of those whose contracts expire in summer 2025 could be sold with low book values (e.g Keane, Holgate, Godfrey, Maupay etc) to bring in 2 new signings next summer.

The other 4 players needed loaned in.

I think the DOF may be thinking along similar lines.

If im looking to invest or buy the club id want to see drastic improvements on the balance sheet.

This and next summers business should show vast improvements before the new broadcasting deal and stadium turnover.

FFP should be free and clear so by 2025 we can splash the cash with a new owner and increased revenue streams.

Exactly this. The club is losing money. Nothing has gone to plan for Moshiri because of the whole Russia war with Ukraine. If you look into it he’s had business’s sanctioned, ties cut, and we lost the USM deal which would of been pumping money into the stadium. He’s had to pay it all himself, and he obviously doesn’t want to pump anymore of his own money into the club. Once again it’s just bad luck for the club, we never seem to catch a break.
