Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Shows how far we have fallen for the last few years... Our revenue has grown to £187m (c225m Euro`s), the highest it has ever been is £193m in 20/21 but putting that in to context we are, according to Deloitte :-

In Euros

Brighton 257m
Villa 310m
West Ham 322m
Newcastle 372m
Chelsea 546m
Spurs 615m
Liverpool 714m
Arsenal 717m
Man Utd 771m
Man City 839m

A £50m increase will get us above Brighton but we are more likely to lose out in the money stakes to Forest and their Champions League money next season.

Our Revenue needs to improve £100m to £150m a season to have any impact at the top end and compete for European Football and trophies. We are just too far away.
Well yes, if you have champions league income you will have more. But after the top 6, we can compete with anyone on revenue. We will have to do what THEY did, and that is make europe. Newcastle, 7th, had turnover of 250m, or 63m more than us. The stadium will close that to almost nothing. Then its just a matter of who is making europe or not, but it gives us every shot to do exactly what they did, and what teams in the bottom half cant.

Just like the Goodison derby, I think we`ve been the better side in both 1st halves, should be 1-0 up. Ironic Beto scores the one he is offside and not the one where he is onside. The one game we want him to be clinical!

We can only hope we keep the same momentum in the second half but I think they will do the same as the last derby and come out all guns blazing....

Cmon you blues, stand up to them and FFS be clinical when finishing.

Beto can not be 1st choice striker at any point next season.

It has genuinely been answered almost ad infinitum on here. If the answer of "the stadium" isnt enough, what answer are you looking for? The revenue is due to us moving into the new stadium.
Wanted to know how revenue from the stadium can be used to finance this summer as clearly unlike you I'm not au fait with how finances of that magnitude work

Would prefer Willock if his contract is running down.

Younger and a bit more of a goal threat when he gets minutes.

Longstaff would be the Doucs replacement I guess but don't think he's any better than Garner.

Eeugh, if we spend £15m on a 28 year old donkey in a position that is low priority I'll be devoed.
I think midfield is big priority,
We need a starter in there imo

Huge summer ahead.

If anybody thinks these mediocrities will survive at a properly ambitious club, they're deluded. Mind you, the question now is: are we an ambitious club?

Let's see what the Friedkins are truly made of.

The key is not giving new contracts to Doucs, Young, DCL and Keane. Those four off will free up a good chunk of wages. Also tell Coleman it's time to dedicate himself full time to coaching and I think that's quietly happened. Harrison will also be back at Leeds. Holgate wages also finally come off the books this summer.

Yes there are other areas that over time need to significantly improve to be a serious top half team again but in the short term that is how you lower the wage bill with players not contributing much or in need of a fresh start.

We are not going to be able to complete the squad overhaul this summer. But we need rid of the following. Some have showed themselves right up tonight.

Harrison (championship level player)
Doucoure (nah)
Garner (for me has 8 games to show us what he has to offer)
Beto (he tries but that’s 4 one on ones missed now)
Lindstrom (not offered anything to warrant singing)
Keane (obvious)
Young (50 years old)

Keane maybe heavily reduced terms as 4 choice but pretty much agree.

Coufal is a shocking player. Legs have gone.

Longstaff? Soucek??

Let’s show some ambition and move away from utter dross.
Same not really sure why coufal when kwp who i would target first. Another short term option while patterson maybe in his last year on contract or two. Who we need to make a decision on because we cant keep getting short term options at fb

Soucek would be alright. The Doucs option but younger and more of a goal threat.

Don't see it with the other two.

I think the Alcaraz signing with no reports of interest in him and also long term tracking of Ndiaye hints at more younger players signed rather than ones coming up to 30, of course an exception like Soucek could still happen. I presume he has one year left on his West Ham deal?
