I tihnk prem proven is the way to go in my opinion, it's a hugely desirable trait knowing that a player should be able to hit the ground running in the league. The same goes for managers, as we have seen with Roberto, I dread to think what we would be like without him and with Vitor.

what about europe proven for many years of europe ahead?

I just think proven premiership players are the way to go, look at McCarthy, Barry, Lukaku.

I don't fancy us risking "our biggest war chest in years" on unproven foreign imports with flashy names and bright boots.

Agreed. Don't fancy a Lamela tbh

no way did chelsea think liverpool would be challenging them though. but i agree with your point. i mean we would have been expecting to finish in that 5th-7th bracket anyway, city and chelsea would have expected that.

No they didn't, but for the CL spots?! If Chelsea don't want a player and cant sell him, they will loan them out to anybody in hope they will eventually be signed, unless there loaning to there feeder club Vitesse where there trying to give there players game time and experience.

I just want to sign someone who proves that we're moving forwards with some ambition for once, not looking to add 'squad players' or potential rough diamonds. Just go out and make a statement of intent that we're gonna grab next season by the balls from the very start
