summer transfers

In the daily star sunday were being linked to loan moves for Stephane M'Bia & Joshua Guilavogui.

Wouldn't mind either of these tbh. M'Bia as had a great season with Sevilla and is an athletic, DCM and would give us options in there for next season. Guilavogui was signed by At. Madrid in the summer but never got a look in and went back to his old club St. Etienne on loan in Jan and as done well but he had a great season the one before last and broke into the French national team and he's more of a box to box CM but big, strong and athletic and he too would be a good signing IMO.

Without CL im really not sure we can afford to buy Lukaku and bring in the numbers to increase the squad to fight on all fronts domestically and abroad next season. £20m is a hell of a lot of money to fork out on him and would basically be the majority of our summer budget I'd imagine so we might end up having to swerve him.

I'd like Bony but it looks like he's been given a £20m price tag aswell so he'd be out of the question.

For around £10m I'd be looking at the likes of Remy, Lacazette of Lyon or Bacca of Sevilla. All 3 are decent, only Remy out of them would want big wages but at £75k a week I'd stump it up as he's quality. But Lacazette looks a talent, and Bacca as had a very good first season in La Liga aswell so would be just as good of a signing.

Or we could look at players like Drmic, Batshuayi & Finnbogason and take a chance on one of those?

I do think we'll get Barry signed up permanently for another year with an option of a second. Deulofeu & Traore will return on loan I reckon. We will sign a main striker for the team so that will be 4 signings. Going by rumours of late were looking at defensive and attacking midfielders so one from Diame (£3.5m), Rodwell, M'Bia or Guilavogui (all loan options) for DM and one from either Tadic (£10-12m), Firmino (£12-15m), Bojan or Rafinha (loan options) as an ACM option for next season.

So from that lot they'll be 6 signings but I think we need to be looking at CB. Ive tried giving Alcaraz a chance and defended him at times but the last 2 games, and with the Anfield derby in mind, I just don't think he's upto it at a top end of the table side with our aspirations but I cant see him going anywhere and just being at the club as 4th choice CB. But we do need to bring someone in who can go either under Distin's wing or take over him gradually as the season progresses and then they'll be fully ready to take Distin's birth in the side for years to come as Distin is not getting any younger, Someone like Martins-Indi, van Dijk, Hector Moreno or Martin Hinteregger?. We do have Duffy but he's been linked to Burnley of late and I think a loan move there for him next season would be a brilliant move to see how he copes with the possibility of regular games in the premier league.

So if were wise enough with what money weve got, keep what players we have signed up to the club, try and keep the loan players here and then add to it here and there, are squad should have the required numbers, depth and quality to push on even further next season and give the CL spots a real run for there money. I know others like Spurs and Man Utd will buy and improve but where weve had a season under Martinez and have got to grips with his ways of playing, the likes of Spurs and United will have new managers again with different ideas and will want there own players and need to bed em in and maybe they might start slow and we can take advantage of that and start fast, or they could do what we did and start well under a new manager, who knows, but im confident if we can get the right players in, they'll fit in like they've been here years and will go on and have another cracking season and hopefully do even better, even with the demands of European football, cos look at Spurs, they've had some upheavals this season and was in Europa but still put up a fight for Europe!.

Good post that, but on the strikers if we're gonna go for a Drmic/Finnbogason/Batshuayi type it needs to be along with another more experienced striker.

jack colback decent player can play LB Lm Cm cb anywhere really an would be a great addition for the burdens of the Europa league

mo diame good box to box cm would be a quality addition and a different type of player than what we have ATM an at 3.5 million is a steal

for a striker id seriously consider Danny welbeck i think he would be an astute signing for Everton hes got pace hes strong he can run at People with the ball hold the ball up and i think his price wouldn't be more than 8 million

I like Guilavogui, a lot, though from what I've seen of him he looks more like a deep lying playmaker in that he is certainly capable of playing some fantastic balls from deep or maybe it was just that I caught him playing there on a rare occasion.

That's my thinking, but can we afford to pay out big for a main striker, then spend the amounts that's been spouted about for one of those aswell, on top of other signings, im not so sure?!

I think that's why Martinez wants to either spend big on Lukaku or another striker, and add Traore to the ranks on loan so he isn't spending a lot just on striker reinforcements

Welbeck would be more then 8 million, English player tax

Attacking mid/winger. Has played up front this season tho.

Yes he as at times. Definitely got a goal in him and wouldn't mind him at us, him or Tadic cos tbh, we could do with either a few more goals or a lot more creativity in the team and both of them offer that

Yeah if do go for either of them, (I personally wouldn't, both good players), I'd defo go for Tadic. If we're signing him for out wide he offers quality out there and can cover Barkley.

Remy is too injury prone. I would only pay 15M for a proven striker or a young starlet. Wouldn't wanna an Eric Lamela at everton. I wonder if we can get Fellaini on loan? That could happen cis at least we got Europa League. He can be that box to box midfielder again. Gibson has to up his game really otherwise I can see him leaving in January. Martins Indi is Distin like so that would be good. We need to have at least one srong and tall CB to replace Distin.
