Out of the 3 relegation teams, I would only take Steven Caulker if the fee is right. We need a long term replacement for Distin.

Yeah I'd take a punt on Caulker. Found it tough at Cardiff but was brilliant at Swansea. for the right price he'd be good but the Sh!te and Spurs are interested.

I'd seriously have a look at the likes of Ruddy & Marshall as potential goalies to take over from Howard eventually, and maybe try a cheeky loan bid to sign Mitroglou from Fulham. He was [Poor language removed] hot in Greece, was doing it in the CL and was unlucky at Fulham with the state they were in, injuries. There is a player in there somewhere, could be worth a shout.

I really like the look of Mitroglou - has all the attributes needed for the premiership. A loan deal could be a great shout and they might be open to it like QPR who had to loan out their top earners like Remy

...can't really see us pro-actively seeking a central defender. Unless a fantastic proposition arises our financial situation means we will need to prioritise. We've had a single recognised, out and out centre forward this season. What a difference it would've made with more ammunition up top. Kone will be fit, but I expect that's were any big money signings will be made.
