I also would like Caulker. However, RM speaks volumes about finding the right characters to fit into the squad, and I believe Caulker would. However would Bobby? Would Caulker be a good fit? Jags was with Sheffield United when they wen't down back to the championship and he has been a rock for us ever since.

Caulker and Stones.. future sorted at center-back?

caulker is very similar to stones in terms of attributes, but better in the air and a danger from corners as well, i am still shocked that spurs let him go, was a brain dead decision imo. he'd be great, just don't know about the cost.

Yeah I'd take a punt on Caulker. Found it tough at Cardiff but was brilliant at Swansea. for the right price he'd be good but the Sh!te and Spurs are interested.

I'd seriously have a look at the likes of Ruddy & Marshall as potential goalies to take over from Howard eventually, and maybe try a cheeky loan bid to sign Mitroglou from Fulham. He was [Poor language removed] hot in Greece, was doing it in the CL and was unlucky at Fulham with the state they were in, injuries. There is a player in there somewhere, could be worth a shout.

liverpool would be a terrible move for him, he's not a long ball defender. mind you, he would have had to be at cardiff

someone mentioned the possibility of jovetic on loan. if city were open to this, that would be a great replacement for lukaku btw, better than keeping traore imo.

Anyone mentioned Danny Ings? Seems to be the best English striker outside the Prem. U-21 International. Liverpool and Southampton were linked a few months ago but surely Liverpool will be aiming higher now they're confirmed in the champs league.

I'd rather go for Ings then spunk £16m on Bony or £20m on Lukaku.

Great in the air, very good finisher - look at the strike at 4 mins too.

Burnley have just been promoted, can't see Ings leaving them yet.

I reckon if we offered them money, they might consider it.
Indeed. But the point is every team I listed has the capacity to outbid us easily, and they all have a track record for paying over the odds in order to get what they want (bar Arsenal).

In some ways, the best thing that could happen is Chelsea win a bidding war and have to shift Lukaku out to us to balance the books.
