Jags:"We've got a budget, and the fact of the matter is that if we'd tried to buy Rom, it may have been £15 or £20m. We may have been able to afford that."
Very past tense, almost as if he'd...signed for someone else already ;)

Indeed. But the point is every team I listed has the capacity to outbid us easily, and they all have a track record for paying over the odds in order to get what they want (bar Arsenal).

In some ways, the best thing that could happen is Chelsea win a bidding war and have to shift Lukaku out to us to balance the books.
I think certainly Chelsea, maybe Arsenal are looking above and beyond what they think Bony is. United are fairly well stocked striker wise still. Spurs would be a possibility I suppose but we can only try and lure him here and hope he sees us as a team that can progress and offer him a platform to perform at.

I'd have Diame, rated him when he was at Wigan. May not be getting used effectively in the team that Allardyce sets out.

Before this weekend I'd have said Remy would be realistic. However with him being spotted at the Emirates maybe Arsenal and the likes are sniffing round him. Bony would be a great addition however he did come out last week and mentioned wanting to play in the champions league so we may just miss out on him as well.

Another random one but maybe Bolasie at Palace? As much as we weren't at the races when they came here afew weeks ago, he did impress me. I've seen him afew times this season and he looks like he could be useful (cue him to have a stinker tonight now)

The only ITK I have is that Luke Shaw was a done deal to United. Fee was agredd and he was at their training ground a couple days before we bummed them at GP. Moyes being sacked means it is likely off

someone mentioned the possibility of jovetic on loan. if city were open to this, that would be a great replacement for lukaku btw, better than keeping traore imo.

Think that was me mate, ideal situation would be buying luka loaning jovetic, would give us a powerful front lineup next year, really rate jovetic myself think he could excel given a chance, guess it depends on what city do re dzeko and any incomings if he is available tho
