Since Chelsea bought him for £17m in 2011, Lukaku's played 75 prem games and scored 31 goals. And he's only 20. He's not going to be sold for £17.5m, as much as I would love him to be.

If we can get Lukaku and Deulofeu back in on loan again for 2014 - 2015, we will be absolutely laughing. But we just don't have the money to sign them permanently.

Dont think there is any chance of that whatsoever if im honest. Jose obviously doesnt rate him, he's reiterated again today that he wants a striker, but with the grief he got for this years loan plus FFP means £15-25mil or whatever will be very useful in protecting the balance sheet.

To be honest, i dont get the impression Rom has overly enjoyed it with us. All his interviews are about his quet to be the best, and he appreciates that there are steps needing to be taken to get there. I dont think thats a criticism of us, or that he should be berated for looking after number 1, but I think he will naturally see after 2 seasons of 15+ goals that he is ready for a CL club. Can see Utd, Arsenal, even Liverpool all going for him and I would expect him to choose any of them over us just because of being in Europes elite competition.

As for his price, how many strikers practically guarentee 15+ premier league goals? They are rare which is why they are so expensive. He wont be going for under £20mil i dont think.

Was absolutely nothing like 17 mil up front. No way will they have paid that much for him yet, 10 max. Plus they overpaid, they paid that for his potential, not ability. Also I put that amount as most say 15-20 mil.
Reports at the time varied between £10m and £12m up front. I would suggest that scoring 17 in 35 for West Brom, and 14 in 30 for Everton, whilst not yet being 21, would add to his value. Had he score his 31 goals in 75 games for Chelsea, I suspect many of the add-on fees would have been activated... and we wouldn't be sitting here discussing whether or not he was worth a £20m fee.

Hasn't he proved in the last two seasons that he can score regularly in the Prem? Two years on, has he not demonstrated the ability you're talking about? The only reason we're still looking at his potential is because he is ridiculously young to be as good as he is, and yet he's had enough poor performances to show that he's not yet the finished article. How good is he going to be when he's 23?

If we can get him for the £17.5m suggested, we should absolutely do it. But all the reasons why he'd be a great purchase at that price are also the reasons why he is unlikely to go for less than £20m

I guess the fee will be something like £15m rising to £20m depends on apps and achievement with the club etc.

The Mirror is reporting Milner to us in the summer. What would everyone think of utilizing him as a defensive mid? His defensive workrate is top notch and he could provide something more than Barry going forward. I could see him as a box to box midfielder. Pair him up with McCarthy and we could have the hardest working defensive midfielders in the world.

Been linked to Daniel Aquino of Ath. Madrid today by a foriegn journalist on twitter.

Must admit, I have heard of him but not seen anything of him, he's apparently a winger that can play anywhere across the 3 attacking mid spots and is well thought of by Simeone.

Possible loan option in the summer perhaps?

I actually like Milner as a CM, he's got great energy and work rate and as some skill and a goal in his locker.

Could be a good partner for McCarthy but for me they are very similar and not adventurous enough with there passing.

I wouldn't say no to us signing someone like Milner but I think we need to get Barry signed up or give Gibbo a chance or sign another ball player to partner McCarthy in CM.

Milner would be a great signing, I think he is a top player. Unfortunately I think this rumour is tripe.

This is alluding to what I posted earlier, do we know if Lukaku wants to stay with us, I am not convinced. I would like him to stay as a permanent signing but the big ? is the fee.

Got promoted from the C team to the firsts within a year, can't be too bad.

Chelsea have first option on Markovic. Quality player.

Will admit haven't seen him that much besides for eufa games and the games against Porto but surprised me just how good he is at that age, the complete package as a winger, can see why the Serbians play him on the left and move Tadic inside to accommodate them both tbh
