Sunderland afc

A question to the Sunderland fans here.

Why did so many managers turn the job down in the summer? From an outside interest Grayson was third or fourth choice to what I recall. Why was this? It can't have helped for tbis season if the man who took the job essentially was not one wanted by the club

Only remember the lad from Aberdeen saying no. We have no money. While Grayson needs to go he only spent 1.5 million.

We are terrible.

Quite shocked how bad it gets - especially given the positivity at the end of the season Newcastle went down

The owner is grasping every bit of income and expecting to sell when the worse they are the less chance of selling for a decent amount

The lack of interest is even shown in how they stopped the seat replacement part way through (changed enough pink seats to red to get good background for pics of Martin Bain the resident cost cutter). They’ve cancelled all discounted club subsidised match day transport tickets. They have the worst home shirt I don’t know anyone in my circle of friends who genuinely likes it - and the ridiculous attempts to engage with fans with stupid ways of promoting the kits. The club is so disconnected to the fans it’s shocking up here at the moment! Could go on for ages at the stuff the club have done to the fans I’m surprised any turn up.

That was quite some record i hear on soccer sat, think if i remember it right that jeff said sunderland when they go behind at home-[think it was at home in league],that sunderland have only came back ONCE to win a game in 57 games, plus unreal that you havent won a home game in league since december as well

Another dismal defeat. Absolutely shocking, if we don't beat Bolton on Tuesday I genuinely think we'll go down.

Bolton have a transfer ban and have Ben Alnwick in goal (Used to play for us - Terrible!) there away form is absolutely horrific....I have a feeling they will beat us and make us a laughing stock.

Grayson needs to go, he's clueless and doesn't know what to do. I feel sorry for the bloke, he inherited a terrible team but we've been patient and there's been no improvement. We've regressed, something has to give.

Think it's about 180 million or something along those lines

I know someone internally who works at Sunderland and apparently it's closer to 250m mate :rant:(n)

The one shining light of this season, that these blimps will go down even further.

Please Bolton, you can do it.

Dreadful that, I haven’t been to SOL since the Leeds game and thought they looked woeful then but seemingly worse now.

At least you seem able to score this year, that might just help you stay up!

Not sure what the owner is playing at the debt has seemingly increased despite the cuts and sales?! You’re to end up in administration with the 3 musketeers at the helm. Really depressing times...

It's simply incompetence and dreadful decision making mate. To be fair, successive managers have spent money on garbage, but because they're no longer in the picture (Di Canio, Poyet, Martin O'Neill) they have got off lightly, whilst Short takes all the blame. Don't get me wrong, I hate what Ellis Short has did to our club, but he's only part of a failing structure which runs deep..... Generally, he has backed most of our managers with good solid foundations, and more importantly - Cash - And I'd say 80% has been wasted on rubbish. However, considering he's a 'experienced business man' he's failed miserably behind the scenes to keep the books balanced and to rack up the debt we have, we'd give Greece a run for their money in a 'Who can get in the most debt and create economical disaster the quickest?' challenge.

We're scoring goals but we've got no proven scorer, Vaughan, for all his effort and workrate isn't a '15 goal a season' striker, and we've got no proven goal scorer. Luckily, McGeady has stepped up to the plate to help on that regard, but, we desperately need at least 2 forwards in January, a proven goal-scorer at this level is a priority, and we also need a target man to help us keep the ball in the final third - I doubt we'll get it as we're skint. So, we'd need to sell some of our 'talent' to fund it, or, we could utilize the loan option. Still, we're in a terrible state.
