One thing that distinguishes EFC from the really top clubs is our inability to maximize
a rival's foul play.

When Shelvey made a naughty, late sliding tackle on Jags, then any player worth his salt at Barca or RM or even LFC - i am thinking of Sturridge or Sterling- would have rolled around, shouting, grimacing. He would have stayed on the ground obliging the ref. to get out a card.

What does Jags do? He jumps up and waves his arm pushing the bald headed brute and thereby allowing the ref to bottle out by admonishing both players.

Baines and Barkley are others who do not understand the rules of modern football.

Naismith understands the rules but he's just no good at applying them.

What does RM do during training?

I know exactly what you mean. Then again though, I suppose you always have to bear in mind that Shelvey was a graduate of the Hogwarts of Cheating/Feigning Injury/Referee Manipulation unlike Phil Jagielka.

How did Chelsea beat EFC? By playing according to the spirit of the Old Corinthians? Or by crowding the ref and getting Barry sent off?

How did Porto beat Celtic by Fair Play?

When a team has the chance to press hom an advantage, any advantage they should take it.

No mate, there is a big difference between being a but streetwise and the out and out cheating you advocate

Don't want to see our players rolling round, its cringy

I get where you're coming from. Although during training I'm assuming they work on football, not how to roll around like an idiot after getting tackled.

Remember, we rip into the likes of sterling and sturridge for doing exactly that. Modern game n all, but a bit of dignity doesn't go a miss.

Didn't Baines going down pretty easily get us a cheap free kick and get Shelvey's volley disallowed?

We do have players that go down easily but not necessarily roll about. Problem is most are not very good at it. Peinaar is the best for us. Coleman is OK at it, Baines goes down easily and gets away with it (must be his innocent look), Osman is rubbish and needs to practise, Naismith is another but he to needs more practise. Jags is clever and knows how to win free kicks, Mirallass is so so, Lukaku is OK and McCarthy only goes down if he is pole axed. Ross falls over himself and also needs practise. Barry is clever and experienced and is quite good at it. I would say Pienaar is probably the best in the league. Thing is we don't make too much of a deal about it unless the players actually see a snidey tackle and its usually McCarthy or Nais first in there faces.

I hate to see players going down for no reason. I, though I am sure someone will deduct points from me, thought Coleman was wrong to go off his feet yesterday and as he handed the ball he gave the ref no option but to give a penalty. The problem is that refs are so inconsistent, many would have given Coleman a free kick as there was a hand on his back. Let's get back to the days when you had to be pushed before you got a free. Something that really annoys me is when the so-called pundits say "he was entitled to go down" your not entitled to go down, you have to be tripped. Entitled to go down is just cheating.

I remember when Luis Suarez scraped his boot down the side of Distin's
calf. A really bad effort and Distin failed to fall over and milk it. Suarez scored that
day and we drew 2-2.

In a previous derby game Suarez at Goodison invented a bad tackle from Rodwell. And got Rodwell sent off. LFC went onto win 0-1.

Small margins win matches and EFC need to wise-up.

If "wising up" means cheating I would rather not be wise. We need to lead by example, let us publicise the cheating and make the authorities take notice and do something to stamp it out. Match videos should be re-run by the referees and if a player is shown to have tried to get an advantage by cheating he should receive punishment. This could be taken out of the game in weeks if there was a will to do it.

It took twelve posts on this faking pain and injury topic before the master, Luis Suarez was mentioned. Amazing.

I saw a giant poster at our local shopping centre the other day with a picture of his head and the words 'There will be haters' Not so amazing.

Anyone notice Kone limping around unable to break into a proper sprint over distance !

How was Steven Naismith not selected over Kone from the start? Shocking stuff from Bobby again.

Just think mate after MLS, StevieG is going to come back and open up a training facility, how to win penalties!

So, you want us to be like THEM, and use Suarez as a role model?

I'm out like :)
