When Deulo came on, I was pretty sure he wouldn't be subbing on Kev and in the end he only used him as a timewasting sub.

Basically it's a decent result away from home, he wanted to go for the victory but he didn't want to risk leaving two inexperienced and young fullbacks exposed by two wingers not renowned for their defending.

With this in mind, the use of Deulo was very positive.

So just throwing forwards on isnt the answer? Anyone would think the other team had a game plan too.

I understand Mirallas was frustrated and should have been on earlier, but that was silly. He's done that exact same tackle before at home to Burnley (I think) and got away with it despite being pulled up on Match of the Day, Soccer Saturday etc. You think he'd have learnt not to, but no. It's a yellow for me, but in the modern game you can't do that and expect to get away with it twice.

I dont blame Martinez for the sending off

I'm disappointed he's finally got a deep squad and a bench that can change the game, and has put on our 2nd sub in the 91st minute

If we want to achieve real things, not the 7th place trophy, its important to turn games like this from respectable draws into 3 points

There were 3 options for the sub:

Naismith, Barkley or Lukaku making way for Mirallas. He went for Barkley.

I can understand it being left until late for Barkley or Lukaku as Ross was having a good game and Lukaku was at the time our only striker and you always fancy him to get a goal.

Now clearly Naismith being left on was a defensive move, if I were in charge I'd have had Naismith off ~80 mins or and put Mirallas on the left.

Hopefully we stuff WBA away and make this disappointing draw look like a decent point in retrospect.

I can see why he would be frustrated yes. Personally I think he's one of our most gifted players. But we've been doing boss lately, and the players ahead of him don't deserve to be dropped IMO. He shouldn't be a sulking tit, just because he hasn't been a regular within the first 5 games.

FWIW I don't think the challenge was even that bad, possibly overly enthusiastic to make an impression and it's gone wrong.
There is no point in bringing him on with 2 minutes to go. He gets the last 10 I guarantee he doesn't do that and in the last 10 minutes he would of offered more than a tired Naismith IMHO. That's not Bashing Naismith or Martinez just put someone else on, especially when you can see the assistant manager just telling him to 'look after the ball' about 3 times, his game is to be direct and crest not sure things up.

That was a great performance today worthy of a win. He would feel he could of offered us something in the last 10-15 yet he get 2 minutes. That doesn't excuse his attitude or the tackle just a wider look at why he did it rather than just seeing it black or white. He has been a great player for us and deserves the chance to prove his worth.

Both feet were off the ground. One landed on top of the player's foot. Definite red.

If it was against one of ours and wasn't given we'd be rightly fuming.

Wouldn't go so far as to say definite red, but you're spot on, if one of their players had made that challenge we'd be up in arms about it.

We can have no complaints about that red card, on another day, yea, it might have been yellow, but that happens. As @Azzurri says, he's got away with similar tackles before, just so happens this was right under the nose of the ref (?). They even out over time.
