Not the most entertaining of games, but I thought Everton did enough to win it in the last half an hour or so (certainly from the point where Deulofeu came onto the pitch).

Looking forward to Big Emile getting his record-breaking move to Barcelona. Hopefully Martinez will be in the market for a non-banana foot to replace him.

I can't even be arsed to take the piss out of the people blaming Martinez for the sending off. It's just a new low for these match threads that I didn't see coming.

Anyway, brilliant second half performance in which we were let down by the finishing of Kone and for once, Lukaku. He's got to score on two occasions imo and hasn't. Missed the chances with one poor finish on his right and a poor first touch when Barkley slipped him in, centre of goal. Unforgivable really. Bet he scores at least once in the week now though.

Stones continues to amaze, Barry was very good. Galloway, Browning, Jagielka, Deulofeu when he came on, all did well.

Barkley was the most pleasing aspect though. That was pretty much the complete performance. He was mature, kept a cool head under pressure and his decision making was ace. All things he's had big problems with previously. If he plays like that all season he'll push Stones all the way for PoTY.

We've shown we're a far superior team in every department to Swansea. Good start to the season.

Takes some doing to go there and boss them.

I doubt anyone else will this season
.

Citeh might, but yea, it's a tough place to go to and that's a good performance and I reckon it justifys his team selection, which I didn't totally agree with, I'd have started Lennon. But fair play to Kone and Naismith, they played their parts and bringing fresh legs on in the shape of Deulofeu
was the right thing to do at the right time.

Overall 8/10 for team and manager.

or not.

We created plenty chances and had a good solid shape.

Not the other players fault that Rom couldn't finish them.

If we have to play the younguns in defence against West Brom, then I would start with same team except put Lennon in for Kone.

That ball he put across the face of goal that Lukaku and Naismith both missed. As well as generally looking dangerous every time he got the ball. I'm bored of Kone now

It was a red imo. But weirdly, he was unlucky to get it. The linesman gave it, cos it was bang in front of him, and he was probably looking right at it. At first, I didnt see a foul cos there were other players around him, so the ref never saw it clearly.

Suarez was always cute with his if you remember. Kev was just stupid.

I understand Mirallas was frustrated and should have been on earlier, but that was silly. He's done that exact same tackle before at home to Burnley (I think) and got away with it despite being pulled up on Match of the Day, Soccer Saturday etc. You think he'd have learnt not to, but no. It's a yellow for me, but in the modern game you can't do that and expect to get away with it twice.
Only excuse was he never really got the pace of the game, but silly tackle in that situation anyway!

A point is very decent; to control a team of that quality there is very commendable. The fact we're rueing a draw tells you all you need to know about how well we've played this season for the most part.
