We needed that win today. Thought we a bit shaky at one point (although we should have been out of sight by then). Think that even though they had a few good chances, that a 3 goal winning margin was about right. We had 26 attempts at goal and 12 on target!! For an away side thats pretty dominant really. Now keep it goin Blues!!

My Thoughts.

Firstly, the team sheet had me worried.. Drop Hibbo and Distin whilst leaving Neville central  Though I was happy to see Seamus at RB. I thought he tracked back nicely while defending, but offered little going forward.

Anichebe was sublime, my MOTM. Showed good reactions and his movement off the ball was better than we've seen. I also enjoyed his willingness to take defenders on. He does go down to easy for me though.

1st Goal- Controversial hand from fellaini but after last week who cares. Nevertheless he was fearless setting up a nice finish from Anichebe.

33rd minute Howard showed why most criticize him, looked like a headless chicken coming out for the ball. Though that was his only blunder for me on the day.

Neville, what can we say about Neville that hasn't already been said about Afghanistan "Bombed out and depleted"
In all seriousness a much better performance from the Captain. Breaking up play and passing quicker.

Second Goal- Started with Neville near our own box.. He could have hoofed it out of danger but he stayed calm and sprung the counter.. Get IN Mirrallas!!

Osman for me was the biggest disappointment. He really didn't do to much wrong per se but he is capable of doing so much more for us.. Also he gets pushed off the ball way to easy..

Quick word on Neville, he was gash against Newcastle but it was better from him today. Redistributed the ball more intelligently and the break for the second goal stemmed from his good play in our corner of the pitch.

I thought he was pretty awful today too. On the edge of our box and with loads of time to play the ball into midfield he tries lobbing it to Coleman and concedes an unnecessary corner. And in a similar situation he tries to head back to Howard and gives away another set piece. We also looked really exposed defensively and it was only Swansea's woeful inability to find the net that stopped us throwing the game away.

Yeah he did make a silly mistake or two, I agree, just pointing out that he was (by and large) better today.

Need Gibson back and in there again asap.

I think you'll find Davek is a great supporter of the team but is a realist. I also have a cloud hovering over me when it comes to the derby.

Realism easily spills over into corrosive negativity and pessimism. We can all be occasionally critical of particular players or situations, but when we have gone 2nd and snotted the latest opponents, why say we are going to lose to the RS? Some lads on here might say it ironically or as a joke, but I can see davek sitting there praying for it so it matches his view.

Dont like to sl@g off other blues so I am stopping here but FFS have a look at the table and think back to how gash we have been in the past and how we escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth twice.

That "situation" happened 3 times but the game I was watching had 1 corner conceded, one goal sprung, and Howard played out the header back..

I think Osman is playing in the position he should be, unfortunately not with the partner to let him do what he does best. Neville has the tendency to lose out on tackles and lose possession due to his lack of pace and sometimes poor first touch so Osman always has to have one eye on him. I think when Gibson is back, if Osman starts next to him, his performances will get better.
