Takeover bid by Peter Kenyon

Read the athletic report by O'Keefe and Slater on how the discussions unfolded. It's still seems unclear to me if the other parties that had interest were considered on the takeover side or under the initial pitch for stadium funding and buying a percentage.

The bone I have is the exclusivity rights for the Kenyon group after the club was not publicly known to have been for sale. It seems that the Kenyon group were the pitch that began Moshiri considering selling main ownership stakes. If thats the case that in essence means the club being for sell was triggered by the single group who now has exclusivity which I think is extremely precarious and dangerous.

If Everton is for sale it should be publicly stated with multiple consortiums being able to express the desire to OWN the club, not simply finance Bramley Moore which was the barometer for all parties Moshiri approached. Currently by my understanding of the reporting that didn't happen.

For how bad Moshiri has been he owes the club and city due process and a seat at the table in discussions similar to the Chelsea takeover. Giving a singe party interest and a leg up before the fans even knew the team was available is disingenuous and as a fan really scary.
They only have exclusivity for so long.. the last fellas(Moore or something) had the same then Farhad bought 49.9% under the radar.

It depends who leaked the info.. could be Farhad so he gets a bidding war. Could be this group to speed things up.. could be another group to get it in the open. No one really knows for sure

I don't think Mosh will sell up wholesale. He'll give a controlling stake IMO

This would, to some degree, make a lot of sense.

Moshiri gets to cover most of his losses. He allows somebody else to push forward with the running of the club. He finds people who are highly competent from a business and Real Estate perspective to help maximise both aspects that havent been tapped, and goes along for the ride as a minority shareholder.

I may be mistaken, but being given exclusivity doesn't mean you are forced to sell to them. You're not allowed to enter negotiations with another party until you accept/reject any offer made after they complete their due diligence.

You're right though, granting exclusivity must surely weaken our hand.
