Takeover bid by Peter Kenyon

I saw that mate. The lad was saying we could write of our FFP - 105 mill over three losses and start from scratch - ive no idea how we could do that - or if we can - i doubt it.

My take is any new owners will still be governed on what they can spend on players, by our current FFP limits. Even if they have billions to throw at us (they wont) they wouldn't be able - so nothing is going to change in the playing recruitment end of things.

They would have to have a huge commercial deal for us up their sleeve - like City.

I'm not sure theres any precedent for that.

And I'll be honest, I dont see any huge financial deals immediately happening either.

He'll be loaded...but i dont see how Esk would be right that hes worth more than Usmanov.

If hes worth say $100-200mil from work...and lets say a huge amount from stock options then thats surely not going to be anywhere near Usmamov.

Maybe close to Moshiri but id be surprised.

These Yanks are so well connected its ridiculous.

If they are planning to use Everton as a Flagship commercial project to act as a marketing element to all their 'boring' business activities then we'd probably have the worlds best owners.

Seriously speaking these guys look (on paper) like they are the real deal business and connection wise.

If they were anything but American Id be excited.

They are very serious and well connected business people. Very limited expertise in sport though.

Ugh when talking about the billionaire class morality is hard to come by. Still I feel reluctant in cosigning a consortium takeover who has fascist and or fascist associations at the core of the financiers. Granted maybe i'm being too picky, the options again of decency at this level of wealth is possibly an oxymoron. Case and point where Everton was garnering its resources the majority of Moshiri's ownership.

Regardless I find how Moshiri is approaching this poor. It feels very backroom dealing with people he knows or him to save face by avoiding publicly stating his intentions to move on. If he indeed wants to sell it might behoove him to say so publicy attract more interest and weigh groups bids accordingly.

I think it was the Echo that reported that Moshiri was speaking with potential investors about buying into Everton and it was those initial conversations that led to a buy out rather simple investment.

In other words you’d draw the line at the Saudi regime.
Similarly I’d draw the line at anybody who willingly consorts with or sympathises with a person who is a leading Neo- Nazi.
Look I'll be honest I don't know who these people are, I just know that it's not an international incident that they're trying to buy us, that's a start for me. I'd love if it was a model like in Germany where fans owned the club basically but that's unfortunately not the case here. Like I said I don't know them but I'd legitimately be shocked if there were billionaire business men that weren't utter scum, it seems like a universal trait. We already know that we've got dirty owners and are only getting away with it because Usmanov isn't technically on the books.

As depressing as it is to say, I'm just a football fan that loves my football club. I would 100% leave it behind if it were something like the Saudis because they'd gladly and by law have people like me executed. Unless there's some abhorrent quotes or actions by these people that I'm not aware of, which is possible, I can't really say much more than I just want my club to do well, I don't care about the politics, beliefs or intents of owners really aside from when they're actively harming people. Football at the top end is a disgusting business filled with greed and awful people, I don't expect any other top level owner would buck that trend unfortunately.

As for Mosh, I think last season frightened the proverbial out of him - if we had gone down, he was looking at a financial car crash, and a long slow crawl back to the PL.

Yeah I think he'd be willing to sell now. He's had a crack at the footy thing, but he's really out his depth.

Think he does want the best for us, but I have a feeling if he could recoup his investment he'd leg it.

Tell us what you really think chief...

I am not completely convinced that Moshiri wants to sell up and leave completely.

I think he was/is looking for investors to share the financial loan and the story has evolved from there.
There certainly seems to be investors who want total control but I wonder if there are investors also who want a piece of the company but not the whole thing ?

Last time we were considering an American buyout when Moshiri appeared from nowhere, this may be similar.

High stake games like these are rarely played out in public.
