I can reiterate my original statement if that helps you. Anyone saying that we will finish above 13th isn't paying attention. We won't finish 13th and we sure as mustard won't finish 12th. That's what I say about that.

To use your peculiar argument, if you say 8th to 12th, then why not 7th?! The answer, of course, is that the very suggestion is stupid and based on blind optimism and misplaced faith. All of the evidence, all of it, points to a bottom quarter finish.
Thanks for your reply: We’ll see what happens. You seem very definite about what will happen.

We are Everton football club. We should be aiming to be the best.

There should be a 15 year plan that gets us to be up with the best but until 2025 we have horrific contracts and no ability to spend.

In those circumstances the best we can do is survive.

I still don't think a lot of people get how bad things are.

I'm sorry mate. People have waited 28 years for something, telling people to wait another 15, while keeping knobheads like Kenwright around just won't do.

Newcastle went from bottom 3 to top 4 in 1 season. It can be done. It's about ambition and comptenecy of the people coming in.

Giving people 15 years is just a continuation of the low expectations and mistakes that have see us in this mess.

As a fan base we have to start demanding more than just surviving. If that's all this new lot want to do, they can go as well.

Has to be survival and anything else is a bonus.

Have to be very mindful of where we are - think about it....

In 2021/22 we just barely survived with 39 points. That's an almighty let off - a close shave. You have to improve from there.
In 2022/23 we actually got WORSE. We survived on 36 points. I've not checked, but I suspect we're in an extreme minority of teams who have survived on 39, got worse and stayed up the following season.

There's many reasons why we've performed so badly, but we can't ignore the key one on the pitch: we have a squad assembled vey chaotically and badly by multiple managers and DoFs, with very varying philosophies. And we have very little - if any - finance available to improve the situation.
Situations like that do not get better overnight, unless recruitment is outstanding management/coaching is stellar.

Genuinely, coming 13th-17th would be a very commendable outcome based on where we are right now.
Anything above that and Dyche will deserve to go down in folklore.

I hate saying this about Everton - the 4th most successful team in English history. But we are where we are.

I think Dyche will comfortably get us somewhere between 40 and 50 points. Take that all day in the current climate. But things will improve with extra revenue with the new stadium on and off the field. We could be back in the pack with European aspirations in 5 years. I’m hoping after such disfunction some lesson will be learned and the club manages themselves much more effectively as a result of the past. Here is to hoping.

I very much hope I'm wrong but we appear to be scrambling about in the bargain basement looking for signings whilst trying to sell off anything that moves. This is after we finished one spot outside the relegation places last year, we have lost our best defender and can't even afford to extend the contract of our reserve keeper. It's looking bleak.

Is it too much to ask for us to sign a player who can get the small round thing into the big rectangular thing on a regular basis.. ⚽➡️🥅... 🍆👊💧

It's already abundantly clear that nothing has been learned from last season.

Kenwright is still in situ, nobody has been signed, chaos reigns.

I am not setting us any target for next season, because it already appears to be hopeless. I don't intend to become emotionally involved in another car crash of a season because right now it's not going to be a surprise to find ourselves in the mire well before the autumn has finished. Why waste emotion when the club continues to treat fans with arrogant, condescending contempt. As it stands, we're depending on Luton, Sheffield United, and somebody else being worse than an Everton in terminal decline. I don't see our luck holding - and I'm no longer sure what we've escaped has been all that lucky an experience anymore. It's merely delayed the day of reckoning and we remain lost in a twilight zone of Kenwright's shady deals and Moshiri's shady money.

Hopefully 13th to 17th. I look at the teams in the league and think Luton will be worse than us, possibly Sheff Utd will as well. The others I'm not so sure on - Forest and Wolves I can see struggling. Bournemouth will depend on how the new bloke settles. Palace look to be losing Zaha and have Hodgson back so again might struggle.

We have to get the right players in though as all of the above is just heart ruling head at this stage.

It’s all dependent on transfers. We have a solid manager and a semi decent starting XI. If we get it right we will be comfortable.
