She was ranked 350 last year, and 150 going into the tournament. Just cos you may not have heard of them, she beat every player well above her ranking.

Whether she repeats that in the coming years, or becomes a female Becker, is still to be known mind.

If you don't realise they are of note then fair enough. She also beat the woman who won the other half of the draw as well so effectively beat them all. (You have to in order to win the tournament) You can't belittle her incredible achievement. I wish all the players in our team had the focus and grit of those two girls. Entire match was 100%

There's no denial of her achievement from me. Ive said what an achievement it is and you can only beat what you have to face on the other side of the net. But it's still the case that she didn't have to shift a champion out of the way like Osaka or Barty.

I think the point has been made to death that Dave doesn't fully respect a single-elimination tournament win where the bracket collapses, and that he's more or less on an island on that one.

For myself, I'm a lot more interested in whether or not Djokovic can pass a stern test against the reigning Tour Finals champion after getting pushed to five by Zverev. The outcome of this one will be interesting either way. Djokovic has a calendar Slam and the major title lead on the line. Medvedev has been to two prior Grand Slam finals without result. No pressure either way.

She'll be a challenger for more majors and possibly win them.
