Wipe knee with towel, crack on. That's what would usually happen. It was smart use of a medical break by Raducanu.
Davek sorry mate you are way off here. SHE wanted to continue. It was the referee that ordered the injury time out. She explains it all in the press conference/interview. She herself said that she was in a zone, a pivotal moment in the match and didn’t want to break her own momentum/concentration. Wasn’t her call.

Nonsense. She stood there looking down and pointing at the trickle of blood for about 10 seconds. She could easily have stepped to her chair and wiped that off and carried on for the few more seconds required to see the game out. If the umpire "ordered" the stop it was in that context.

As said, it was a savvy bit of gamesmanship.

I seen that.

Daft get.

Crying over a sporting event. Unreal.

It's unusual for Djokovic though. I'll forgive him.

Makes sense. Enormous amount of pent up emotion. The guy's been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders since Wimbledon. IIRC he was the first to even get a crack at it since Laver.

Laughing would be smarter, but it was obviously just too much. He did well just to get past Zverev, who is staring down the barrel of suspension and was a man on a mission as a result.

I don't know that he'll add three next year, but he will remain extraordinarily difficult to beat in his Melbourne office and should remain just as tough an out everywhere else. Nadal might step up in Paris, Federer could at Wimbledon, and Medvedev could become dangerous everywhere.
