Poor match overall, but Fritz wants to take a long look at himself this evening. He hasnt imposed himself on a sub-par Nadal in any way.

I dont think Nadal is injured at all BTW

It's mental against these legends. Nadal somehow finds a way.

These young guys need to believe they can win

I mean look at Zverev. It took him all this time to finally get it, finally believe he could do it, then that awful injury

I think Nadal pulled a stunt with his so-called injury, and rather than taste blood Fritz wasnt sure how to react. Old hands like Nadal know every trick in the book and use them to their advantage.

You just have to hope Fritz wises up to that kind of gamesmanship going forward.

Half fit Nadal beats Fritz. The generation below the greats still playing are pathetic.

I could imagine him getting past a big serving Kyrgios as the points will be short. But Djokovic will put him on the rack.

Unfortunate for Nadal. He'd have won this Wimbledon.

Nadal is the absolute epitome of a sport star. 19-0 this year in majors at the age of 36. He has not got the physicality or technical ability of any of his rivals, or the younger generation behind him, but Id bet on him, even through the adversity of injuries, against any player, on any day. He is filled with self belief, the will to win, and the idea that he gives up, or throws in the towel, is beyond preposterous.

If we had one player in our squad, with as much fight and belief in their own ability as Nadal has in his little toe, we would be set.

I love watching him play as he gives his all. Every time. And that's what you want while watching sport.
