It really shouldn't matter should it. In either 'product'. But it seems such a ridiculous issue within the men's game that it's become something that will likely define the first current PL player that openly comes out as gay/bi-sexual, regardless of ability.It also seems pertinent that the profile of the squad article matter of factly says that a few of the squad are gay, and no one really gives a toss, yet if members of the male squad came out the hoopla would be enormous.
I've enjoyed this tournament a lot. Good atmosphere around the games, competitive and played in good spirits. The England team seems likeable and capable. I hope it generates interest long term because I think it's clear that there is room enough for a men's and women's product to be successful.
