Shame this has been sexualised and turned into a ‘thing’. Footballers whip off their tops after scoring important goals all the time. This one happened to be a woman, and she was wearing a sports bra, which probably covers up more flesh than some clothing worn in other sports. The real focus should be on any number of other things, such as why do women footballers not need to throw themselves to the floor every five minutes in pursuit of non-existent fouls; why can’t the men’s team win anything despite the vastly superior funding; why are Everton poo plops; why does toast always land buttered side down; etc. ?

It also seems pertinent that the profile of the squad article matter of factly says that a few of the squad are gay, and no one really gives a toss, yet if members of the male squad came out the hoopla would be enormous.
