Greens have pockets of support in the trendier suburbs of Bristol, but thats about it. Labour have controlled Bristol council for ever, and routinely delivers a hotchpotch of Labour and the occasional Liberal to Westminster. The surrounding, (mainly ruralish) areas are pretty solid Conservative. With a small "c". But Bath has delivered Lib Dems, and the greens could do well there.

But thats the point. The wealthy/trendy areas of Bristol and Bath could go Green, but the rest? No chance.
Think the greens are seen as Eco-mentalists to borrow a phrase from my god Jeremy Clarkson. Bit unfair really and they do tend to talk issues more than most parties
Think politics is moving to the right a bit at the moment though as the perception of the public is that Britain is over crowded and we are underpaid and austerity could be easier if we weren't so bloody nice and accommodating to these foreign types.

I just dont think you need a political party to realise that being responsible with your enviroment might be a good idea. Every farmer I know, who care passionately about it, detest the Green party.

Get the economy right. That is it. End of. Cos without that, everything else can go hang.

bunch of badger baiting, over subsidized beauts
Two thirds of hill farmers are on benfits , so add scrougers to the list
funny enough the daily mail never have them on the front page.
Personally I think its a good deal for us to keep the community together and manage the environment

Regarding today's news on paying the EU money in two installments, Cameron and Osborne are both providing a great example of why I'm done with this BS and I've no doubt it would be the same if it was the two Ed's. We're going to end up paying it all so just front up ffs.

People talk about Miliband looking weird but Osborne not only looks weird but evil as well .

Not when it's taking over our towns and cities en masse and building its places of worship (sometimes digging up graves of dead native people to do so) not in accordance with the needs of the population.

is there any evidence for this, there was a scam doing the rounds on facebook a while ago, spread by a particularly hateful bunch of racists

It happens in every country there's a problem in - the default response is blame the foreigner. The only level of difference is how extreme it goes - from casual racism to outright ethnic cleansing. The casual racism part is what is happening in Britain right now, as it's far easier to blame those perceived as outsiders rather than look at the problems within.

Oh, whilst ignoring every stat that indicates they're a £20bn benefit to our economy etc. of course. Most Britons genuinely think immigration costs us billions upon billions.

It's a similar issue with blaming welfare scroungers for the country being skint, when the amount of money "they" (whoever they are) cost is truly insignificant when set against the gaping tax loopholes the rich take advantage of to fleece the economy. Once again, it's easier to mindlessly blame the easy option rather than understand and grasp the harder reality, because they see the odd scoungers more often than they'll see a super rich person, so they can identify it as an issue.

Politics isn't moving to the right as such, as Cameron, Milliband et al know full well that Britain leaving the EU would be absolute suicide, so the foreign rhetoric is just that - rhetoric, which will result in a few headline grabbing policies of little effect so they can win an election.
