I don't know and does it matter anyway? Does it matter if these people are politically minded or not. Surely what matters is that there are at least half a million expressions of the idea Cameronmustgo and that the idea has been sustained for over a week. This is no small matter

Or looking at it another way, only half a million people out of 60 odd million agree?? Being contrary I know.

What is it that's going to change?.

Well, I didn't mention actual change but I get your point. I'm more and more disillusioned with the political process in 21st century Britain. Even when it became obvious that many (the vast majority, I'd day) were on the make, feathering their beds with all kinds of misuse of public money, nothing much happened. Nobody really took to the streets, still less resigned for their crimes. And these are the people who rant about benefit scroungers. I have to say, I've a lot of sympathy with Russell Brand's position, not that I can generally bear him. The political process in this country is not fit for purpose these days.

Well yeah it does matter. And twitter is not a great place to source outrage or public opinion. Otherwise 1D would be the most powerful people on earth.

As it happens, there has been quite a bit of research recently into how information spreads online, and in particular Twitter, with the security services especially keen to better understand how misinformation spreads.

There has also been a steady growth in astroturfing in recent years, with many of the fake accounts becoming quite sophisticated in how they behave. Indeed, a recent study found them to be quite persuasive within their own social networks.

Now, of course, I'm not suggesting for a minute that this Cameron out thing is all a bunch of fakery, but all is not always what it seems on Twitter.
