Whats wrong with forcing people to work for less than the minimum wage? Well loads actually.

Forcing them?

If they refuse to look for work or take positions they deem below them then let them earn there benefits, What is wrong with that?

Asking people to clean up local parks is now akin to slavery.

Those who grew up in really difficult times would be pissing themselves at soft arses like Coach.

Don't worry I wont bother. The indifference to others by the "I'm all right Jacks" on this board is deeply depressing.

Why should anyone vote for anything other than what they believe is best for their family? Whether that be labour, torie, ukip or whoever. Who are you to judge? And if you thin we live in a world where everyone should vote for a government that will help everyone else then you live in a bleeding hearts club fantasy world. or are just a raving mad communist.

I consider myself a bleeding heart liberal but there can be no issue here. I would say they should get the minimum wage though.

I was unemployed for over 6 months at one point and to be honest i would probably have welcomed a measure such as this. Gives one a sense of purpose as it were, can help to build self esteem as well.

At what point will they be earning less than the minimum wage?

They aren't going to be forced to do a five day, 9-5 job picking up litter to earn their benefits. They are being made to actively pursue a job while occasionally contributing to the community though events. They're still going to get a better earnings to hours ratio than the majority of people.

I agree mate, Also a way for them to earn more money on top of any benefits they receive

The JSA is about £57 per week, and the minimum wage is £5.13 an hour for 18 to 21 year olds.

I would be surprised if the unemployed people who would be affected would be asked to work more than 10 hours per week, so that would actually leave them earning a higher rate of pay than the minimum wage.

Seems fine to me.

7 votes I give up ! whatever your political leanings this current lot are a disgrace and if you had anything remotely resembling a soul you'd swerve casting your vote on this one. Horrible.

This makes me really depressed and angry at the same time.

Why mate? Cold hard fact. I will vote for what's best for me and my future family growing up in accordance to what I believe to be most important. You're delusional if you think people should do anything else. Problem? Jog on saaaan.
