"Quite frankly, we’re puzzled why Europe isn’t gagging for this,” says one American official

No wonder it's going slowly........

I am only a young fella, but it seems to me that a party's manifesto accounts for sod all when they don't follow through at all with what they've "promised".

Makes it hard to know who to vote for.

Oh dear, you've embarrassed yourself, there.

Going through that mate:

Powerful nationalism? We have people flying out to fight in Syria alongside anyone flying an English flag being called racist so no to that one.

Scapegoats? Their are scapegoats on both sides (the left only see the big business cartels whilst the right only see immigrants)

Supremacy of the military: LOL what military?

Rampant Sexism? Unless you count sheilas wheels as Sexism men get the short end of the stick so nope.

Controlled mass media? Nope

Obsession with national security: hardly unless you include the big brother state we are under from the Westminster elite.

Religion and government: with gay marriage a big slap in the face to the church and the fear of upsetting Islam over here nope

Corporate power: yes sadly.

Labour power is suppressed: not to the extent that it would under a fascist or communist regime

Disdain for intellectuals: if by intellectuals it means the 20 year old guardian reading media studies student bed wetting types then hell yeah!

Obsession with crime and punishment: We wish this countries justice system is a shambles. We just saw a child rapist get off the hook.

Corrupt elections: we can't say but I doubt it (Again unless you count labours postal voting strategy as shifty)

Neither are for the working class, but at least UKIP's Anti EU stance and policies on immigration is what the majority of the working classes want, compared to the Pro EU labour party.

I didn't know the working class people in the UK were so anti-EU and would be interested to know if this is true.

I'm from such a class and I am pro-EU although I may be atypical.

A lot of the anti-immigrant sentiment comes from long standing working class communities where there has been a significant influx of migrants who have not integrated/been integrated into the community.

UKIP have eroded as much of the labour vote (probably more) as it has of the Tory vote and is the reason we are unfortunately heading for another hung parliament and not a Labour landslide.
