I agree, see my post about the Bristol Channel/Tidal power. Far more reliable than wind and sunshine, but all 3 chronically ignored.

Just think Nuclear is, (currently), the most secure and reliable. Doesnt mean we should ignore others though.

Wind power is generally pretty useless unless you're the one blagging the subsidies.
Tidal, wave, reverse osmosis, nuclear and to a degree solar all better

,but on a bigger scale, for example , you use renewables to turn a turbine, to produce electricity to push water up a hill to a big f' off reservoir to release later, to turn a turbine ...

Big solar facilities often store energy thermally,in superheated salts which are then used to produce steam, to turn a turbine, to produce leccy.

Did some work a few years ago for an Aussie company who were developing tidal turbines which sit about 20 m down and produce regular electric and can also be used for desalination. There's loads of things happening with renewables. In time, most energy produced will come from a mix of nuclear and renewables.

Coal, gas and oil will eventually become uneconomic.

There's millions of people in Africa living in real, abject, poverty (what's a food bank ?) but because they don't live on the same island as us we don't care nearly as much.
