Larbert is a small town in Central Scotland placed nicely slap bang between Glasgow and Edinburgh, it's most famous son was a guy named James Finlayson who found fame and fortune in Hollywood, he was not only one of the original Keystone Cops but is instantly recognisable as the nemesis of Laurel and Hardy in almost all of their films and is attributed with being the originator of Homer Simpson's famous phrase "Doh"
The nearest footy team is Stenhousemuir who are literally about 400 yds over the border between the two small towns.
I was invoking the adopted rules of the 1-100 threadMate that's for when the letter 'L' comes up in roughly 600 days time. We need to build the suspense.
Very much the opposite DGDon't forget "Recognised Anti Rangers town."

And the original MG.Today sees the launch of a new daily series called:
'The A-Z of useless facts about small towns in the UK'
We will kick off with Abingdon-on-Thames.
Abingdon-on-Thames is a historic market town in Oxfordshire.
The town was occupied by the Romans and a Roman defensive enclosure lies beneath the town centre.
Famous stuff to come out of Abingdon-on-Thames include 'Old Speckled Hen' (which has since moved to Bury St-Edmunds) and 'Radiohead'.
Football?
Two non-league teams. Abingdon United FC and Abingdon Town FC.
Log on tomorrow for useless facts about our next town on the A-Z list. Accrington.
I liked him in thisCan I skip to 'T'?
Tavistock is a town just outside of Plymouth. Absolutely nothing special about it, except for the fact one Sir Francis Drake was born there and later lived in Buckland Abbey 8 miles away.
