The Absolute State of This Club

I was positive at first, I don't mind Benitez as manager, it's the lack of money being spent that's the worrying thing and making me negative for this season, it's basically the same crap squad we've had for years now all that's really changed is manager, Silva, Unsworth (was he before Silva ?), Ferguson, Carlo and now Rafael seemingly struggling to get a song out of this bunch, it's proper depressing

We were awful towards the backend of last season. Imagine if DCL missed a few months with injury leaving Richarlison with his surly attitude away to the likes of Burnley.

We have to make hay early on with the friendly fixture list

I haven't felt as negative and pessimistic about Everton in years. From the bargain basement transfer dealings, the fact that Rodriquez is probably on his way out, and the dirty kopite pig we have as manager. We'll probably finish 12th or something, maybe top 10 if we're lucky, but it'll be a season of mid table mediocrity yet again. I'd say this will be the dullest Everton season, since the Sam Allardyce era.

The kopite will start picking a fight with the board, to cover his own inadequacies as the season goes on as well. He has form for this. The board knew that this appointment, would not go down well with the fans. Benitez himself knew, that his fat piggy face wouldn't fit, with some of the support as well. Both respective parties have made their own beds, they have no choice but to lie in them now.
At least during the Big Sam period you felt the gravy guzzler took a sort of perverse joy out of being a pantomime villain to many of the fans.

The Giant Haystacks of the Premier League!

Rafael is just a bore who will play snooze fest football will topping up his pension fund.

Too slow with bleach, arsenic would be quicker, I’m giving it a a good few games before I make my mind up, haven’t even made a will yet!!
In the spirit of fairness and objectivity we have to get the window properly done and dusted, then get to Oct or Nov or so / 10 or 12 league games to see a pattern.
We might have a better idea by then...*he says more in hope than expectation.
Nobody will be more surprised...and pleased...than me if the players haven't already thrown the Squire of Caldy under the bus.

We will of course totally thrash Southampton and all will be well...until the next game.
But it's always like that - or should be...

One Game At a Time...

Even if the last one was a horror show, you're not as good (or bad) as your last game...
You're only as good (or bad) as your
NEXT game.

Edit; but if the ex rs goes all cunning plan with Zonal Marking in the back 4 all bets are off and He can do one

I can imagine there is going to be some serious metldowns on here this season lots of bleach drinking and salty tears
i find it more entertaining than the football this club serves up

This is what did us in last season:

Sunday 16 May 2021
  • Everton0-1 Sheffield Utd Goodison Park, Liverpool

Saturday 1 May 2021
  • Everton1-2 Aston Villa Goodison Park, Liverpool

Monday 5 April 2021
  • Everton1-1 Crystal Palace Goodison Park, Liverpool

Saturday 13 March 2021
  • Everton1-2 Burnley Goodison Park, Liverpool

Wednesday 17 February 2021
  • Everton1-3 Man City Goodison Park, Liverpool

Sunday 14 February 2021
  • Everton0-2 Fulham Goodison Park, Liverpool

Saturday 30 January 2021
  • Everton0-2 Newcastle Goodison Park, Liverpool

Friday 1 January 2021
  • Everton0-1 West Ham Goodison Park, Liverpool

Saturday 28 November 2020
  • Everton0-1 Leeds Goodison Park, Liverpool

Saturday 7 November 2020
  • Everton1-3 Man Utd Goodison Park, Liverpool

After a good start and with DCL on a run we for some reason could not break down stubborn defenses at home. Injuries and squad depth didn’t help, as with the 0-1 against Leeds when we played Iwobi and Davis as wing-backs in a 3-4-3 due to Coleman and Digne being injured.

If Benitez can get the same players to produce the away wins and find a way to improve at home then maybe the team that was 4th in March, was it (?), with a couple of additions/options might do better.
