Mike Holding is great to listen to.putting it out there about the windies wicket keeper being banned for not playing within the spirit of the game, there's a case also for Broad IMO.
nicely set up this game isn't it.agree with bluefox, not really sure how bad a pitch it is

Great day here and in the cycling, loads of drama - ladles of the stuff - controversy, brilliance, rubes acting like burks.
The Broad thing - for me he walks, I know the Aus dont, but thats the difference - a game played by gents (until they reach the bar at least) compared with the game played by cheating greedy lazy beach bums. All the players and media and commentators cant chastise players that dont walk then make excuses for Broad - it doesnt wash much like Shane Warne doesnt.
Why are there only 2 reviews and why did Aus use 2 for rather spurious calls?
Once again Pietersen gets himself out because he gets frustrated by being fenced in and not putting runs on when he feels he deserves - had the talent to be one of the best batsmen in history this lad, but the temperament of a two-bit rocking horse.
Listening to Boycott is just gold, laying into all and sundry, especially Botham for his ten nil prediction. Beligerent but very amusing old man and great of the game. Bliss.

Broad deserves an Oscar... The nerve not to walk off after that. Haha. Brilliant. Bell showing balls for once too

game on a knife edge here, can somebody explain why people are saying 165 is not enough for england atm? what was the score when agar should have been given out stumped? i know clarke may not get another duck which will push the score up; but steve smith certainly won't be getting 50 again that's for sure.

More bowler friendly conditions for anderson and swann as well.

hopefully we can bat out at least most of the rest of the session, nice 20's from broad and swann wouldn't go amiss. Bell needs to prove me wrong here though and get what will probably be his most important test ton - he always seems to get them when everyone else does so that would be a nice feat for him.

will settle for that, aussies don't believe in walking so if any of them have a go at broad they need to be made aware of how hypocritical it is. They only have themselves to blame - you bring tech into the game to override a howling human error but they use them on hopeful appeals.

aussies have still had the bigger slices of luck in this match because if agar was rightly given out they would be looking at chasing 400+ atm.

afternoon Richard how are you today.

very good carlos my man, loving the sunshine. Just been to watch glamorgan smash somerset in the cricket, perfect friday night

can't ban everyone who decides not to walk when they know they've hit it though. if batsmen are always giving themselves out, what's the point in umpires? hah, nah but seriously, i always played to win, i lambasted opposition who didn't walk because the umpire couldn't hear the nick because of the wind, but would often pick the ball up after it had passed the line and say it hadn't passed myself.

can't believe warne said dar is clueless, howler today, but he's one of the best umpires.

looks like my 4-0 prediction won't be too far off.

it may not be as bad a pitch as said,

but a batting line-up of rodgers, cowan, smith and hughes is not going to be able to cope with england's bowling all summer long

Broad should have walked, no question.

Cheating is cheating in any sport - it devalues any game.

I know what you're saying (I walk everytime, despite being a bowler and seeing others stand around!), but I couldn't see the other team doing it? I understand why he hasn't walked.

In all of this, the umpire has dodged a massive bullet. How has he not got more stick for such an obvious error?

i think erasmus having the benefit of doubt of TV replays and still getting two wrong is even worse though. still not sure why dar didn't give it, but there you go.

the standard last year was so high, but this summer there have been some shockers. especially from 3rd umpires, that mitchell johnson one still baffles me

Yeah mate and that, Erasmus has had a shocker. He wasn't great over here either.

Agree, terrible decision by Aleem Dar, - Shane Warne is giving him plenty of stick, but then they've never got on...

Do you think an Aussie would have walked in the same situation? I highly doubt it

Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott, BBC Test Match Special

"There is no debate, it's quite simple. The Australians I have played with and have watched, with the exception of Adam Gilchrist, believe in standing and it's up to the umpire to give you out - there shouldn't be a morale argument.

I agree with Esk though in that everybody should walk. Because some do and some don't, there's always a grey area.
