Broad should have walked, no question.

Cheating is cheating in any sport - it devalues any game.

So if we were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute of the Cup Final for a tackle where the ball was won, Baines should refuse to score ?

The officials are there to officiate, it's not up to the players to do so.

Your forgetting that Cricket operates differently old bean.

I was reading stuff today, "Not in the spirit of the game", I lold, I guess football has done that to me.

Cricket's different mate regarding it's etiquette. The problem is not many players have that respect for the game anymore, so you can't be angry at a player for not walking anymore. Plus you get things like Trott's decision yesterday, and you hope they balance out.
I'm still a romantic of the game too.

Its like Rugby tho, didnt that lid get banned for 24weeks for swearing at the ref?

Imagine if footy made that rule, teams would be playing with 5 players every week.

But the argument is that cheating devalues any game.

and acts of honesty increase the value of a game, golf and snooker for example where almost without exception, players will call penalties or fouls on themselves. Cricket used to have similar values, it is a poorer sport, in my opinion, as those values disappear.

At the end of the day a player has to look at himself in the mirror and value his own integrity - how can Broad do that in future?

I'm a fierce competitor in almost everything I do in life, I hate losing, but I hate cheating even more. I'd rather lose than cheat, they're the values I've taught my children, don't see why others cannot uphold similar values.

Seems alot of people telling us what we 'would' have done, when quite clearly the most famous case of walking was an aussie.

Trying to justify cheating, England?

broad wouldnt walk if his wickets had been scattered and someone had nicked his bat

i love broad though, he does make me smile when he does stupid reviews and shouts at fielders when it's not their fault.

if i was in his shoes, i think a simple "why didn't you review it michael" to clarke would have been brilliant. just watched the highlights, that review for bairstow was shocking, didn't even look close to out, what was he thinking?

if the umpires did their job properly, this game would have been over as a contest by now.
