like i said, they won't even get anywhere close to what they did in the first test.

how is this 3rd vs 4th in the rankings?

Well there are only 8 teams really. India & SA well ahead, Pakistan not much ATM, same with the Windies.

Nothing but a whitewash and follow-on after follow-on please.

These next three tests are going to be sweet.

It wont get sweeter than this, lets face it before this game England had won twice at Lords against them since flight was invented.

pakistan and sri lanka are better than australia. I would fear more players in the west indies team as opposed to the aussie team. still not sure why india are above england either - by quite a few points as well

Yeah didn't we beat India the last two times we played them?

I remember us thrashing them over here and then beating them over there too.

We did indeed, but I think the rankings are based on something like a 4 year cycle, where everyone has played everyone, or something like that.

pay back for all the years the Waugh Brothers,Border,Boon,Healy,McGrath,Lawson,Warne etc (bet i've missed a few also ) dished out to us back in the day.god we took some right beatings

All went according to plan then, except Root not getting his 200.

Great captaincy for me, terrific bowling, terrible opposition.

Over the last 4 years we've beaten everyone but the saffters, though.

Beaten india, australia and bangladesh home and away. Beaten sri lanka and new zealand at home with draws away and beaten west indies and pakistan at home with losses away.

I'm not saying we're better than south africa, because they thrashed us, but we're clearly the second best test nation in the world.

Saffas just got routed by Sri Lanka in a one dayer, their stocks are starting to wear a bit thin and have a few aging players. England/India/South Africa are all capable of beating eachother on their day at any given time right now. It's nice not to have one dominant team.

TJ said it above too, I reckon NZ would give the Aussies a bloody good run for their money right now.
