The Ashes 2023

I make you right fella.

I don't think people realise how tiring it is for the bowlers bowling short pitched all the time.

With Lyon unable to bowl a smart team would have let Australia bowl themselves into the ground and left the ball.

They would have given up the tactic and hour later and / or be so knackered that we could take advantage later in the day and today.
Sorry but it was brain dead cricket.

Fortunately the captain showed some sense when he came in.
Conversly I don't think people realise how mentally tiring it is facing a short ball approach and knowing when to play and leave. Neil Wagner for NZ has a very good international record bowling 75-80mph bouncers for 10 over spells at a time.

True to an extent but Duckett is physiologically incapable of the “leave” shot.

Whats more, he said he wasn’t bothered getting out on 98 and would’ve played the shot again.

Brook eventually calmed down but he looked dead meat until Stokes partnered him and Australia brought on Head
Thats not what he said, he said he was gutted but backed his method which got him 98 runs in the first place

With Lyon potentially out for the series this has now become a must not lose game.
Hopefully Australia will now struggle to take 20 wickets in a match and gives us a great opportunity to win the series
Wonder if they bring Murphy in as a spinner or go full seam attack with Boland.

I think the point of bazball is to always try and put the opponent on the back foot.

If they set a trap for you by sticking men on the boundary and bowling short, I think they have the mindset of, well I'm just gonna tonk these short balls for 6 and put the oppo on the back foot, forcing them to change tactics, not the other way around.

Have a positive and attacking mindset when facing every ball and don't worry about getting out is a big part of bazball, you can't have this middle ground of selective bazball, it's all or nothing and I for one love it.

Why do they always start at 11am ? Why not start at 9am so you have a bigger window to play in given the UKs dodgy weather ?

Why didn't Stokes play that way then? Yes attacking cricket is great. But play the situation and make sure you win.
