I hope I end up eating my words but pietersen is bottling this at the one time we needed him to stand up and be counted. He's gone in to his shell and almost seems to scared to try and score runs

Hi mate you speak a lot of sense but you make it sound like recently we have struggled against those teams in recent times away. You have missed out India where we won and the series before that one we drew. We drew in Sri Lanka we won last time in New Zealand (I think). We won last time in Australia so the only team we struggled against away from home was Pakistan where I grant you we were seriously grubbed. But that was more down to us not being able to play spin and not our bowling.

and while you would play Finn is beyond me, he is far to expensive and gives you no control as a caption when trying to contain and build pressure which is how the England bowling unit work.

as for taking the captaincy away I'm sorry that makes no sense whatsoever to me mate. And also give it to who? Anderson? Swann?

draw away at lowly sri-lanka wasn't a great result, got mauled by pakistan and drew 0-0 in NZ when we could have lost 2-0 easily. I was on about the batsman constantly failing and not batting for too long, hence not giving the bowlers enough rest as opposed to the results though.

yes i would give it to anderson, only for a short time, but cook needs to be concentrating purely on his batting atm as he's out of nick and nobody around him is particularly helping him out either. he's stupidly giving his wicket away when before in his career he was always so mentally strong.

Finn: I'd rather see my bowler get 6-100 off 20 overs than having a bresnan who will get 0-30. It's not as if any of our so-called 'better' alternatives have been great at keeping control this series is it?

It's only when England are ****e against them that you realise just how ****e a sport cricket actually is. Of course, for the past 5 years it was a fantastic sport in my opinion.

The esk family is flying out to Australia next week, we have tickets for the Melbourne Test (Boxing Day).

One of life's greatest sporting occasions, although from an English perspective it is going to be hard going. Had hoped to be singing the Mitchell Johnson song but looks very unlikely now.

Looks like the stay in Melbourne is going to be a shorter one than planned, will go to Sydney and spend more time on the beach I think.

I was lucky enough to be at the MCG and SCG in 10/11 and feel awful for anyone who is over there now. at least in tours gone by legends were playing for Australia but this is a real low point.

had to drive early this morning so had TMS on the radio. Michael Vaughan is brilliant. would love to have him on sky. he tore the mentality of England apart saying it was negative and boring. I wish a younger Vaughan was in this team.

The overwhelming negativity of the captain and management has sunk our chances as much as key players being bang out of form. I fear the rest of the tour will be even more embarressing

If we win this it's going to be a mega Vaulting.

Absolutely tonking you and your big Pompous heads here.

When. No complaints from me, aussies have wanted it and england can't be arsed. The worst thing is, australia have chucked a lot of their wickets away as well, which is a measurement that they are still a very poor side.

I've barely watched any of it, suppose i have work to get up for now as opposed to being in uni. I thought the last series (in aus) was top notch, although aussies probably didn't see it that way, but at least it was compeitive and did have a lot of highlights. What are the highlights of this one? johnson re-finding form, that's been it.

It just didn't have the feeling of an ashes, seemed to be no build up, teams had only just played eachother and England have shown no hunger whatsoever, they've been tired and timid and aussies have fully taken advantage.

such a dissapointment. Hopefully england will shake everything up now, this should be the wake-up call that big changes need to be made, this defeat has been coming a mile off imo. However, they said there would be changes for this test and all they did was ever so predictably bring bresnan back, who by the seems of things has done jack ****. People saying finn shouldn't be picked because he doesn't bring control:

Bresnan 12 overs 1-49 and 22 overs 1-81.

god damn that's a fine job of controlling things. vaughan was a great captain, get him on the staff i say, he had some great ideas and got us playing exciting great cricket. last couple of years it's been bore 2-2.5 an over at best whilst batting.

Can't complain with any of this, although the general feeling before the series was tight but another Pom win.

Hopefully you'll hang on just long enough for me to get home and watch this!
