The bending of PSR rules


Who on earth decides on what an arms length price is? Far too many factors. If we were for some reason selling Myko, he’d be worth far more to us than his true market value, just because he’s our only proper left back. Or if Rice gets injured slowly pondering his way round for England, Arsenal may go to £60m for Onana when he’s isn’t worth near that.

Utter nonsense. The only possible way to prevent it is to stop clubs buying from/selling to the same club in a single window. Even that won’t work as clubs would do triangle swaps.

The minute one of the PL’s cash cows wanted to do this, they’d batter this away with legal threats unless every fee for every player was decided by a central body adhering to a documented valuation method. Given other leagues wouldnt be so stupid, they’d be isolating and trashing their own PL empire.
