Very difficult to shift players in volume and replace for a much better calibre when you finish 10th. We're almost entirely reliant on the clout of Carlo and Brands, which naturally weakens in credibility when the project they're invested in hasn't gone as well as planned to date. A 10th place finish - if you were doing well elsewhere, would you take the gamble?
That being said, I'm confident we can offload Delph, Bernard and Iwobi (maybe Gomes at a push) but I can't see anyone else going.
For me, the biggest requirement is still this position we've lacked for some time. Some kind of commanding centre back that's both technically good with actual bottle and leadership skills. Having that presence really impacts those around them positively.
Following that, a right back to start over Coleman and two wingers with pace/the ability to actually put a decent cross in.
Then a striker who can do more than head the ball.
All in all, likely about £150-£225 million in investment, with £50 million coming from the sale of the above players to net out at around £150m in transfer budget spent.
