The Clear-out

Lots more than that

Our whole midfield is inept. When you see Allan up against thos City midfield you see how poor he really is.

Godfrey cant defend properly at the top level.

Holgate simply not good enough

I could go on and on. I dont like this squad or these players
Bit harsh to single Allan. He’s the only decent midfielder we have and he’s basically up against the best midfield in the world on his own.

I think a few can save there Everton career, but imo Sigs,Gomes,Bernard and Delph need to go ASAP.

Iwobi and Holgate could possibly still do ok if they have better around them, but realistically are just squad players.
Alot of the rest really do though need to try harder and if we bring a few in perhaps that will push them to do that.

Some will disagree with this but I’d sell DCL if a decent offer came in, I’m not sure he’s good enough to take us to the next level.

In an ideal world I’d keep 4/5 at most, in reality I don’t see too much changing.
I don’t see many offers coming in for the dead wood, we pay decent money, so it may be even be tricky to give them away on a free.

So, so much dead wood. Its going to take years. We need a miracle.

I’m torn on this.

I would love us to look at Championship players who are proper hungry for the next level / money.

Godfrey is ideal to show what’s available, years ago it was Timmy Cahill.

Thing is, Carlo may not be the man for that longer term job and i like having him as our manager.

So, we are faced with the dilemma of signing a few full on proper established players, who cost proper wages.

Ramsey and Bale wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, and on that note, I’m proper legging it.

I think we would struggle to get a striker scoring more than DCL at an affordable price.

I reckon he’s looking at Godfrey and thinking, I want a bit more of that in our team. For that reason I’m hopeful we go for the Aarons, Olise, Buendía, Brooks, Toney calibre of player who will be hungry and give it everything every week. They’ve all got class too.

The five I'd most like to see depart (other than Besic, Walcott & Bolassie, who are out of contract) are Siggy, Delph, Bernard, Iwobi and Gomes. They'd free a very substantial sum in wages and they contribute very little to the team. I'd love to see Tosun leave too but as he's injured there's no chance of that.

Can somebody please point me to a list of definite outs for next season with regard to contracts expiring?

I am flabbergasted that not more people are considering this very simple question.

I get why yous are all screaming for a clear out but there’s absolutely no chance of it happening on the scale you want for multiple reasons, chief of which being:

- We can’t make the number of buys we’d need to, to replace the vast numbers leaving the squad

- The above question. If the players have been SO bad for a team like ours, who will take them that could a) afford them and b) realistically expect the player(s) to improve their team(s)?

My main moan is usually with Gomes, so let’s use him as the example: Brought in as your typical, decent player who just took a step too far up - In theory another, more expensive Arteta, Pienaar, etc. Should have offered us some midfield guile or, at worst, our money back. He has been so disastrous (and please spare me the “since the injury” nonsense - he was poo before) that there’s no chance of us getting much, if anything by way of a fee for him and lack of options means he’s still hanging around our first XI like a bad smell.

If he was a one-off you might excuse the club deciding to take the hit on a fee and binning him to save wages, but there’s comfortably 5-10 others that we’d probably have to do the same with and the club just can’t swallow that.

As much as we all want a clear out, we aren’t getting one. The guff will leave when their contracts expire and we’ll recruit (hopefully much better) over the same period.
Sadly true.
