I don't think that this is a debate at all. Everton and Villa are simply on par with each other until something drastic changes, such as much higher attendances and a burst of trophy winning.

Of course we've been a better prospect for players in recent years, and that remains so, but that could change in the coming seasons.

Nevermind that their city's around five times* bigger than ours and has two clubs. You're a kopite if you say that liverpool's in the same (lesser-populated) city as us & they win things and are supported, whereas birmingham city win nothing and get crowds of circa 20k. Proof indeed, I'm just a kopite at heart :oops:

They've never drawn an average crowd of >50k in any season. But saying we have somehow makes me a kopite, as big clubs don't reaslly have big followings to match and never had have :oops:

Their ground holds something like 2.5k more than ours, but if that doesn't make them infinitely more massive than us, then I'm a dirty rat-kopite. :oops:

They've consistently finished below us in the league for aeons now, but saying so somehow makes me a kopite :oops:

They've plumbed the depths of Div3 but saying so is RAWKish behaviour. :oops:

Their last trophy was a season after our last trophy - but that makes me a bullying kopite. :oops:

I could reel off a list of 'firsts' but they'd make me a kopite with no consideration for the opinion of fans of other clubs - even if they are only 14 :oops:

So that's that, then - I'm a kopite. But Everton are still bigger AND BETTER than villa.

Soz abar bein a kopite, lads. :blush:

Even though I started this thread, Im not even that bothered. I was just following @Woolly Blue idea to stop the Cleverley thread being taken off track.

I will always consider us bigger than Villa. The league title is the hardest thing to win and we've won it more than them and throughout our history with multiple different generations of players. That makes us far more illustrious and having dynasties.

the problem is ...how do you balance the history/trophies and todays over all situation of the club when you are talking about who is bigger.

can we find a solution to this? i think we cant.

attendances...historical stature of the club...current incomes....current player materials..etc etc...

Like I said. It was covered in HUGE and MASSIVE detail with illustrative fonts and everything previously.

I doubt the mods need to review the detailed evidence that Everton are ace and Villa are not once again.

Well in the link i posted earlier (i know its daily mail but it was them who done it) attempted to take all those variables into account when ranking who the biggest team are.

Look, I've not once said Villa are a bigger club I've also not called you a kopite either.
