The David Moyes debate

I'd like to see the facts what net spend difference they've had because I wouldn't be swapping Moyes for Martinez myself but just my opinion

transfer league website has Everton as the 14th highest net spenders....Wigan the 17th.

No
If you play proper football and not over defensively, with the quality of Everton and Wigans playing staff you will generally lose more than you win.
We generally play crap football but top half.
Wigan play nicer football near the drop zone

He's got a good eye for a player and he gets a side organized. For a club of our size that's all you need to comfortably stay in this league.

He doesn't get anything like what others would get out of this squad. And there are other good managers who may not be as canny but would do big things with our resources. Wages are as big a factor as transfer spend and we can carry a fairly large one.

How anyone can think he's worth persevering with after he **** himself again is beyond me!!!

We got beat yesterday because Liverpool have better players than Everton because they can spend proper money and when it matters they can use X number of gears , because we have a very very weak chairman our bench was inferior to there's, ( we only had plan A) if we could have brought Bellamy on instead 60k average players like Coleman we may have won, Roberto Martinez would do nothing to change that IMO

What manager mate, Names ???????

I think the fact we always go defensive when we get a goal is all down to Moyes. He is negative.

Yesterday we had a chance to get crosses into the box and shots on the goal, but we barely did. Moyes got it all wrong. I wouldnt be as bothered about the result if we went down fighting, but the fact is we didnt. We went out with Anichebe coming on the pitch for 5 minutes.

And net spend as got **** all to do with anything, becuase, unless your one of the few lucky teams like Chelsea or City you can spunk money everywhere, other teams (rs, united, spurs, arsenal) have a business strategy in place, and the rest of us have to balance the books by selling to buy.

If we had to sell a Rooney every year to allow for a couple of yeaes of spending than so be it.......but with a different manager

After ten years I've seen enough to form my own opinion that Moyes would be a fantastic assistant to a great manager but he, himself, will never be a great manager.

I've backed him at some of his ****tiest times during his tenure here but I'm done with it. He apparently cannot see or act on a situation as it's happening on the field and it's cost us so many matches now. Most of what he does is what you should do, until it comes to what's happening right in front of his face on the pitch.

I have nothing against the man but I've run out of excuses for him.

The ideal situation, for me, is that Moyes became director of football. That way he could still do the things he is good at, namely buying and scouting players, ensuring the success of our youth system etc. then we could get a good coach in who would actually want to take the talent we have a play more attractive football.with the players we have we should be doing much better but Moyes is just too negative. Having said all that, if Pienaar had played yesterday we would have won eily i feel. Then we wouldnt be talking about this as it would have papered over the cracks.

To be honest i think this is all correct.

What Moyes lacks is the attacking side, the positive football etc...he would be great being a director or something, making the transfers - but leaving the tactics and the training to someone else - someone who isnt afraid to play Drenthe, or change formation if it isnt working

After yesterday, Moyes doesn't have my support anymore. I'll never forget it as a watershed moment. It was the most important Everton game since 2009, the biggest derby in 23 years, and then he does that.

He rested 6 players against the RS last time in the apparent need to win a trophy. Then we actually meet them in the cup and he orders his team to play like the French Army. Disgraceful.

Listen to what i'am about to say mate it's simple as you make it, all the biggest clubs in Europe AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid , Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, and now City are all the best team's and have success because they spend money on big international based players, the top 4 in this country are the top 4 for a reason mate, Money nothing else
