The David Moyes debate

The thing about the Moyes Must Stay Because We'll Fall Apart argument is that it was used when Smith was manager by people who should have known better. He is NOT irreplaceable...far from it. His strength has been getting discipline and hard work into an organisation and making that the norm (which is why many scratched their heads and wondered wtf he was doing tolerating Drenthe...sounds like he lost it to me). It really isnt his signing policy, which is hit and miss if you care to make the pros and cons lists up.

We need more than perspiration now, we need inspiration to go with it....because sure as eggs is eggs Billy Liar isn't going to be the one to change things in an upward directon.

Like I say. I BUZZ off it.

Newcastle have made some shrewd signings this year. But then again they could with 35milion burning a hole in their pockets.

But Jelavic for me looks the perfect striker for Everton. We could do with another with some more pace to change things up and to be a foil at times, but Jelavic is some player. For me. Is positioning is AAA grade.

Fortune favours the brave and we're a sh1t our pants outfit under Moyes.

Team like rabbits in headlights, fans cacking it in case he leaves- WHY?

Is it the trophies? the CL adventures? the Barca style football?

Soiled underpant wearers.

Moyes eye for talent can't be questioned, IMO. Even Alex Ferguson spooged £25m approx on Veron, and bought Bellion, Kleberson and Djemba-Djemba in the same season.

He's been unlucky (Pienaar aside), whenever he's tried to bring in any wingers. Van Der Meyde, was class, lost his way, the lad couldn't be helped. Drenthe, was class, temper problems, still mental. Donovan, top top player, but MLS poster boy and as such can't get him permanently.

One thing Moyes needs to realise, is HOW WELL we play with a CREATIVE attacking mid, instead of Cahill. Wolves last season, Osman plays there, we spank them. This season, against Swansea at home, created loads of chances, should've scored more than we did. Sunderland at home...well...you know how that one went.

The one mistake he constantly makes is always dropping the creative attacking mid (Pienaar, Ossie), for Cahill whenever he's fit again. I love Tim, but we play much better, create more chances, and score more goals, when he's not in the team.

Agree with all of that. Surely you would think moyes realises this (cahill) situation. I think circumstances have kept him in the side this year tbh but especially now the cup run is over i would hope moyes goes with trying ossie and barkley there.

I Will fume though next season if cahill's still starting there!

If it's sub £5M for Jelavic that's looking like a real steal. Have Rangers got any chunk of a future sale?

Moyes has had a great record in buying low(ish)....but let's have it warts and all: he's also had a disastrous time of it when he's been given a bit of cash in the shape of Kroldrup, Beattie, Bily (and lest we forget, Moyes was gagging to throw £9M at Rangers for Barry Ferguson's signature!!). And let's not get bogged down in his £500,000 to £2M 'pot luck' punts that end up gathering dust in cupboards around Finch Farm!

His sgning policy has to be taken in the round...not cherry picked for the Cahills, Jags and Pienaars.

Dave you mentioned 3 signings that went a bit tits up.

Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar, combined total of 7m.

And thats ignoring, Jagielka, Lescott, Distin, Heitinga, Baines, Fellaini, Howard, Jelavic, Tommy G and countless others.

Moyes wins, you lose.

P 47 W 0 D 16 L 31 That is David Moyes record for Everton in away games against Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea

These stats are a joke, How can he have never won away at any of these grounds

Great manager though, 10 more years please Davey

Now can you work out how many League games those 4 Clubs have lost at Home in the last 10 Years.

Times it by net spend, then divide it by League Titles won.

I await your reply.

christ we may as well close the club down, how did we manage since 1878 without Moyes i don't know and how will we ever achieve anything ever again without him. Unreal.

Did Wigan not just beat Arsenal and Liverpool away in the last few weeks

Something which Moyes has failed to-do in 10 years

Boss Moyes though
