Footage is horrendous, it has left me wondering could the guy who’s skate did the damage have kept his boot down when he was checked. looks a bit of an unnatural reaction almost like a roundhouse kick.
Not suggesting he intended to slash his throat but they are blades on the bottom of his feet.

Pretty sure seeing and treating the aftermath of horrific accidents day after day numbs you to them and normalises them in a way. Completely understandable. Thanks for going through that to help people.

It’s a pure accident, the Notts player he checks knocks him off balance and he could get his leg down quick enough to prevent it striking Johnson. It’s telling that, from what I’ve seen and read, none of the Notts fans at the game or saw it on a stream are vilifying him, in fact they are calling for support for him, it’s just the troll community or people with zero clue about the sport are demanding he be charged with murder

I don’t watch enough of it to really understand the dynamics of what happens when someone is checked like that, just struck me as the hockey equivalent of ‘leaving one on’ someone, but with horrendous unexpected consequences.
Not disputing it the injury was entirely accidentally btw.
 
Never rated friends but he was quite clearly the funny one out of all of them. RIP.

The ice skating thing is messed up, saw a horrific from the 90s where it happened in the NHL but they managed to save him
