The Devils Demise

Oh right, should have said, yeah I think they are very average, they have a team full of average players, the only one with any talent is Rooney, Van Der Saar is very poor these days, I reckon my Nan could play better than him.

Vidic and Rio are bad crocks and without their solid base and the pretty pink wearing diver they are utter gash.

As usual ridiculous overshutdown of anything Ghost says. He has a point here, he's just gone a bit too far with it. This United team at the moment is [Poor language removed] compared to how good they normally are. It is quite similar to when they were in transition before, but then they got Ronaldo. Their back up defence isn't very good, the midfield is pretty average bar Fletcher and Rooney definitely does carry them up front. It's nowhere near winning the Champions League and the only reason they're doing well in the league is because everyone else has been similarly [Poor language removed].

They're lacking any attacking presence in the midfield if that's what you're saying?

We'll find out how good they are at Goodison next month.

Yeah mate, with the greatest respect, Carrick is not gonna unlock many doors, Fletcher neither, Valencia is just gash, so is Anderson and then who ever else they play.

Look at the players you've listed there as examples of them being good. Hardly 'cream of world talent' is it.

Look at who they brought on tonight to try and win this game, and mark my words they wanted to win this game, probably more than if they got to the final and play Villa or Rovers.

Owen and Scholes, just not got that zip anymore, they have a pedestrian midfield, average Brazilian in Anderson, Valencia is ok but no great shakes, Giggs is too old to keep up with the over enthusiastic diving Frenchman, Jonny Evans can't pass water, Wes Brown has never been good enough.

They only have Rooney it seems, and Berbatov when he can be arsed, which isn't often.

Tonight we saw the changing of the guard. Typified massively by Carlos Tevez.

Disagree - City are [Poor language removed] as well.

Oh my God, thats what they said during commentary, you have been sucked in by the media.

Er, no mate. It's fairly obvious. United didn't see the worth in Tevez, he goes to City and proves them completely wrong. City have zip and pace all over the pitch, and they have a young and vibrant new manager, who let's face it is from the same school of charisma as Mourinho.

So unless United actually get Mourinho as their next boss, I can see City taking over them now.

United do look very poor, especially in midfield. The likes of Anderson and Nani were signed with the expectation that they'd eventually replace Scholes and Giggs but it hasn't happened at all yet. Up front they're almost completely reliant on Rooney after the baffling failure of Berbatov.

United have had lean times before and come through it stronger than ever but I'm not sure now will be the same, simply because of their financial situation. On their own they are a profit machine and this has always given them money to spend big on Ferdinand, Rooney, Berbatov et al, not to mention buying in the likes of Evra and Vidic in January when required. Now though the owners have stripped them of that money. The youth system has produced some decent talent but though the likes of Evans, Gibson and Macheda made promising starts, none are ready to really influence the first team.

It'll be an interesting time as Chelsea will have to overhaul their squad too before long. Frank Lampard, Ricardo Carvalho, Didier Drogba, Paulo Ferreira, Nicolas Anelka, Michael Ballack are all into their 30's. Terry and Cole (both) are not far behind.

The Tennies shall be the decade of Everton. Forza Toffees.
