Yeah, the tallest mountain is a pain to get up. Until you find the escalator. Then you just sit and wait.

You have to level up to level 8 in spell casting and then summon the albatross of enlightenment to take you to the summit. It's not easy, I wouldn't recommend it for an unexperienced wizard.
