The end of Hibbo?

Love the guy
Decent footballer too- his 2 crossed assists in the 4-4 vs United had me going mad for him- love him
Happy for him to stay in the squad as back-up for as long as possible

Some ignorant comments - based as they are on his lack of attacking prowess. Where are all the threads saying "we have to drop Hibbo, buy another right back, etc etc." until Seamus became so much better than him. If Hibbo was that bad the clamour to replace him in 2010, 2011 and 2012 would have been deafening.

I fail to see what he's done that exactly warrants this level of offensiveness. He never let the side down and filled in at centre-half. Was a rock in many tough games. Just because he didn't provide masses of great crosses (and our right hand side was nowhere near as strong in this respect as our left) doesn't mean he wasn't doing his job properly.

As for "never being the subject of a bid from a big club" - well that's easy: there aren't that many of these clubs and all the so-called big clubs have equally decent right backs. Why would he want to move to, say, Newcastle or West Brom?

Ha ha Butters .... Instead of just letting people think you're thick you actually post your footballing opinions and remove all doubt !

lol. Go Kurt!

People are being quite selective in their memory here. He did have loads of good games, but he also had loads of really bad games where he was clearly the weak spot in our defence, and he got ripped a new one on numerous occasions. And there definitely were periods in which our support were giving him quite a bit of stick, and it was because he was getting had off by the opposition.

Trying to look at this objectively, overall i think he's been pretty poor for us, two major flaws in his game which he never improved on, he's not comfortable on the ball anywhere on the pitch and therefore was not a viable outlet for the other players, how many times have you tensed up when the ball landed at his feet?? the other flaw was his positional sense, he tended to switch off 2 or 3 times a game and ended up getting caught out of position, hence the famous recovery sliding tackles.....

I expect Stones is ahead of him in the pecking order for fullback now anyway

I fully expect him to have a statue built of him outside the stadium
and a stand named after him
and the new stadium too
man of the people is hibbo
love him

Fooking love the Shoe, the long sleeve wearing hero.

My favourite memory of him was the night we beat Utd when Fellaini got the winner. Dead late in the game Evra made a surge down the left, right by the away fans. Hibbo stuck him in the gravel having done the same just a few minutes before to somebody else...the pair get up and Evra just shakes his hand and runs back to position. No messing about, just a nice show of respect between two full-backs, it was a boss moment.

Anybody remember the FA Cup final v Chelsea when he made Malouda look like the French Messi?

I quote from somebody off Bluekipper: "Hibbert looked like he was drunk."

Oh well if you have quoted someone from Kipper it must be right eh?

That site is populated by bellends who understand nothing about football. It's closing meant a huge increase on this site of such weapons who post nothing but ill informed recycling of they read in the tabloids and knee jerk reactions

Hibbo has given the club a decade of dedicated service and even when he has played poorly (as everyone does sometimes) it has not been because of lack of effort.

I NEVER saw his name on the teamsheet and groaned.

Have a bit of respect for a top Evertonian

He was atrocious that day, and Chelsea knew it. Targeting Hibbo was their game plan.

That being said, on other occasions I can remember him bossing some top wingers. He never got mugged off by Ronaldo, for example
