The Esk and El Bobble

Esk is full of utter wham, thinks he's some sort of super blue cause he knows stuff about numbers and accounting. Doesn't half stir some brown up on Twitter, much like he did he before being proven wrong time and time again.
Esk isnt even that bad for me, its the Eskimos who crawl up his rectum and hang off every word like his word is GOD just cos he worked in London or something.

Don’t like people who try to play the big I am and I don’t have Twitter. Not for me either of them.

A pair of clowns . Bobble gets some minor information and acts like he knows everything but is a chancer. Eskis mind numbingly dull whom got a C in math and thinks he us on same level as a top accountant like Moshiri.
Twitter is infected with these nobodies who have little to say but shout the loudest

Because if you have access to that level of wealth and you want to keep quiet about it, you have access to the level of expertise needed in order to do a good job of keeping an extremely low profile. Bear in mind that once they reach a certain level, people with this kind of money go to great lengths simply to hide their true wealth. It's not a huge conceptual leap to accept than some will want to hide full stop.

As a kind of guide, try this out: grab the next copy of the Sunday Times rich list and see what you can find out about some of the genuinely rich folk you've never heard of. For every obnoxious attention-seeking Lewis Hamilton type, there's five billionaires who value the freedom that relative anonymity brings.
Weird to bring Hamilton into it given he’s nowhere near being a multibillionaire. This Thornton guy will have businesses with his interests in them having to be public. You don’t get legitimate billionaires being able to hide the fact they are worth billions. Esk claims he’s worth more than Usmanov. Where is he getting that from?

I always feel like he’s dead condescending on them spaces too - maybe reading into it too much though.
Dont really listen to Podcasts and Spaces like, as I say, no real issue with Esk and I do find his money stuff very interesting.

Seems like you'd need large interests in several private equity or closely held entities to acquire a billion or two unnoticed. Just seems like someone would notice if a few billion were missing from somewhere. That's clearly a Michael Bolton decimal point level of notice.

He’s getting it from the estimate of around £30bn through the mining company although there’s plenty of articles saying he’s worth nowhere near that.

Certainly nothing on Usmanov who probably has unlimited wealth with his connections.

My point re Hamilton was one about the type of rich person who is obsessed with drawing attention to themselves. Hardly a complicated concept.

And the rest of your post is based on wild assumptions. Thornton may have business interests in jurisdictions where the reporting regimes are less strict - Cayman, or BVI for instance. Some jurisdictions have incredibly lax reporting regimes, some do not allow open access to the information held by the reporting regimes. Your comments imply that you think all countries maintain the same attitude to strict, open reporting that we see in the UK - which isn't as strict and open as some - when the mere concepts of tax havens and Swiss bank accounts demonstrate that the truth is not what you think.

As I said before, go have a thumb through the Sunday Times rich list. Pick a dozen names you've never heard of and see what you can find out. I bet you'll draw a blank on several of them.
