The EU deal

I'm in Slovenia now. A stunning country full of friendly (mostly) English speakers.

Was stood on the border with Austria and Italy yesterday and strangely could barely tell the difference.

I'm sure silly nationalism has its place though.

Use the Calais ring road on the way back and let us know what it looks like.......

You're the guy who goes to the place where the terrorist shootings are and plays Imagine.

Frank Field did an excellent job of putting the Socialist case for Brexit on QT last night.

Reminisced about the days he and Corbyn were united about being anti-EU when trying to protect workers rights.
He got of of to a dodgy start but by the end I thought he was the best, wisest and most trustworthy panelist by far. Made Owen Jones look like an idealist child.

We can't reform the EU. If we could a lot more people would vote to stay including me but we can't.

You really don't have a clue. There's a big difference between not so bright and plain ignorant. People don't take offence because they can. When someone uses offensive language against you, you either suffer it in silence or you speak out. If you suffer in silence, it isn't accepting the abuse, or giving the abuser the permission to continue.
Again people do take offense because they can and personally that's what I think you are doing. It doesn't mean they are always taking offense because they can. Some people are more badly effected than others. It's the absolutes that you use that I have a problem with. It's the sign of someone wanting to control the narrative to make it a binary choice between right and wrong. When people do that they tend to want to use it to control behavior.

There was an Englishman, Irishman and a Scot.......start of a joke....

There was a Frenchman, German and a Pole.........start of a xenophobic nationalist rant....

Our British politicians, if you don't like them, can be voted out every 4-5 years.

How anyone can prefer a system where a load of unelected beaurecrats can dictate or veto domestic policy is beyond me.

What ever you think of Farage he absolutely destroyed them in the EU parliament during and after the credit crisis. For all his faults, (and they are many) one thing he knows is financial markets.

They used to [Poor language removed] themselves every time he got up to speak because they couldn't argue with the truth.

I like to listen to what politicians from both sides of the political spectrum have to say on this issue. Even George Galloway made sense the other day and I think the bloke is an utter ****.

Hahaha.....the Guardian

"George Osborne has been in action, warning JP Morgan staff to “think carefully about the consequences of leaving the EU” before they vote. He was appearing at the investment bank’s centre in Bournemouth, Dorset, alongside JP Morgan’s chief executive, Jamie Dimon."

He really knows how to talk and connect with the average working man.........

There really is nothing in it.......

Politics should not be binary. This nonsense that my dad voted Conservative and my grandad voted Conservative (or vice versa) so I have to ALWAYS vote conservative does my head in.

Labour has policies I agree with. They have some I detest. Greens have some excellent ideas and some crap ones. Etc etc.

People should vote on the issues not the personalities. I think Corbyn is a melt and Blair is a war criminal but I would vote Labour if necessary. Boris portrays the image of a bumbling buffoon but did some really good things for London.

I've been saying this for years. Personally I'd get rid of political parties, get back to the MP solely representing the people who voted him or her in and voting with the wishes of his constituents.......

It's going to be very interesting how history views Farage.
