I'm voting out, I know enough to make that much of a decision.
I'd say say their views on their economy are far more to your liking than to mine.
The author is a Lutheran. Not impartial. If you don't agree that there was an imposition of Christianity or don't recognise it took place then you have no business using it as an example, it happened, it is documented, research it. Amazing the influence a mother has on her powerful sons.
PBS does do things well, this series included, but as a de facto reportage? Not really.
The point of everything else you don't comprehend is that Christianity, in how you seem to interpret it, isn't the hollywood version, sanitised to appeal to the masses. The idea of some organic development just didn't happen. If you don't get that, or are a practicing christian, then I would suggest a bit of self educating and self determination.

You may have read that they hope to increase their population to 100m by 2050. I very much doubt that they want to add a further 100m people to the 81m they already have. The population has only increased by 10m over the last 60 years.Googled it.
The first article i found suggested Germany needs 500k immigrants annually until 2050 (written in 2015).
I do recall seeing the 100mn somewhere though. Might try and find it later.
