The EU deal

hasnt got the balls to do it, they will cobble some nonsense together and try and sell it as a victory for every body

His mentor thatcher would've done. At least she had a pair of bollox on her.

But like all bullies, he's alright at picking on those he thinks he can get away with it, but where he has has very little influence...

It was (deliberately) a simple example, but maybe you would like to explain why it is simplistic?

Added: I would have thought, as someone who has, like me, stood on picket lines, you would have been in favour of the worker and social protections within EU law, as opposed to free market conservatism run by Murdoch and the Koch brothers with a permanent majority (following the boundary tinkering and the likelihood of Scottish independence following a Leave vote).

Peteblue suggests closer ties with the USA - the country which would have us sign up to a trade treaty which would outlaw democratic governments from passing laws which have an adverse effect on multinational (especially US-based) companies. And which doesn't allow any lawmakers to see what it is that is being negotiated between civil servants and corporations.
Wow mate so many things going on there, with experience the EU has provided little or no protections with regard to employment rights that I have seen,so that would not directly effect the working man(including agency labour who are afforded no protections whatsoever)for me it's mythical

I agree it's not plain sailing. I guess the question is how does it get better by leaving Europe? Would the ordinary worker be more or less protected?

What if Britain under a right wing Government de-regulated business and employee rights to try and be more competitive?
Esk I take your point but workers in this country are not protected, look at agency labour, zero hour contracts etc.......if the EU outlawed both then I'd say yeah let's stay in

sorry want clear but i don't think the working class , are gaining anything out of the freedom of movement other than a lowering of there wages, pressure on housing ect.
was being ironic but failed :(
If we leave Europe who will you blame these same failings on?

I think people have a romantic view of the UK if they believe they are able to be a self sustained nation again, trade is vital to all countries and especially the UK. The man on the street would definitely feel the pinch, everything would see an increase in price for a start.

Perhaps joining in the first place is a different argument, but that ship has sailed, and to turn back now would send the UK back 50 years.

In total agreement with this

I see. I guess you could argue that if the wages /housing costs here are too low/high, then folk could move to Germany or France and chance their arm there.

Freedom of labour and all that.

Cuts both ways. #aufwiedersainpet

No one is talking about cutting trade links. We want to trade with Europe and trade globally with the likes of the Commonwealth etc
